Wish they could simply frog-march the bastards to the nearest pokey, but it’s probably just as well they take the long route with the DOJ likely to refuse to prosecute the contempt charge. After yesterday’s totally bullsh*t performance by Gonzales, particularly his lying to Specter’s face in such a baldface manner, it will be easier to sell the idea to fence-sitting Repugs that the DOJ is also inherently in contempt. That would take us to step 2 and 3 in Fein’s list of options…and that much closer to impeachment of the first officer of this administration.

The answer he gave, again, is that he doesn’t know. Just think about it. You’re an executive and you’re firing a group of your senior most employees. And you don’t know how many you fired? Any executive knows that this is one of the most gut-wrenching decisions he’ll ever make. Gonzales’s answer on this point is one of those rare cases when “I don’t know” can surely be found to be another perjury.

Is the GOP thinking about trying to support Hilary because their own candidates have no chance of winning the presidency?
I know Hilary thinks this election is a repeat of the George McGovern Presidential Candidacy but its not. This election is the post watergate presidential race only without the lefty postion being hurt by the McGovern loss.
The Center Democrats lost this one to Bush twice. Still if a movment to get Republicans to cross over and vote for Hilary does take place this is disturbing. But how could this work the GOP hates Hilary more than anyone?

I would imagine there are more wavering Repubes than ever after the insanity of the last few years. Sure as apple pie, Hillary’s going for ‘em! Her recent vote to expand the powers of facism in America is a great example of patented Clinton triangulation. There are the 4-5 usual Dems voting with the Repubes, but the only other Dems mixed in with every other Repube, are Clinton and Schumer.

The wingnut blogs wanted this to pass, and now there’s a bunch of comments there to the effect of, “Wow. Hillary did the right thing for once. Maybe she’s not a moonbat after all?” Similar thing with her speechifying about the plight of immigrant workers, and then votes to build a giant fence along the Mexican border.

If the tringulators could point out some cases where their pandering has been reciprocated by Repubes and they helped us out on some some things, I’d maybe entertain this strategy. But they never have! This is one of the reasons the Dem Party has been tanking for years (Dr. Dean came around just in time!). Look at the recent drop in polls for Congress. It’s because they’re not standing and fighting for what’s right. Serial Panderists.

I’m not much of a Hillary fan, but the Right is already assuming she will be the nominee.
I work construction (rained out this AM) and the Republicans are already spreading the “Dems get in and the Economy will crash” story. I’ve heard it several times from some Builders who are local Repuke operatives.
