Scarecrow’s post reminds me that in addition to flooding congress critters with our calls, etc., we need to flood the MSM with pertinent (and perhaps impertinent)information. Scarecrow’s post, for starters. And engage others to join us in that. People beyond the blogosphere who are willing to do something if it’s not too scary nor too demanding. And baby, we’ve got a boatload of those. They need to be engaged and I can’t think of a more important target for our engagement than the MSM.

Let’s get specific. Whom to contact at MSM? Editor, assistant editor, top-drawer journalists, lesser journalists? All of the above? Target broadly or focus on a particular venue? Strategy time for this?

Considering it took the MSM until August 23, 2005 (Hurricane Katrina) to realize the incompetantcy of the Bush Administration and then connect the dots to the Iraq war and a failed war on terrorism, I doubt they will get what is going on now other than what the republican elected officials are describing as partisan politics. I think the lack of attention by the media to this constitutional crisis brewing has something to do with the weak democratic majority and their inability to move forward on ending our involvement in Iraq. Anything other than this such as impeachment, supoenas, indictments, ect. is just seen as the democrat’s desperate attempt to exercise power and embarass the administration in the eyes of the MSM. Like Joe Biden said to the Iraq ambasador the other day, “Time is running out folks.”

But even if they did, selling soap trumps all in today’s media. So they won’t go there. It scares the customers.

So, it would be a waste of time for him to initiate proceedings b/c they would be of no effect. Hence, his only way of objecting to Bush’s bad faith directive, is noisy resignation

You know LHP, I wonder if a direction from Bush to ignore a Congressional subpoena forwarded to the D.C. USA will result in people in the department (not in the chain of command, which is thoroughly corrupted) resigning in protest.

The department is rotten, but I honestly can’t see all 90 USA’s and a lot of the various civil staff members saying “la la la la” in the face of this dubious legal opinion.

Right now, it’s still a threat. It may just be a bluff. If Congress calls the bluff, I’m not sure he has such unshakeable control of the department to prevent widespread disaffection from breaking out.

Yes he did. And he took a beating for it in the press but they went away quietly when they realized Miller’s intent was obstruction and not protecting her confidentiality agreement with Scooter Libby. Miller’s own paper, the NYT, had ALREADY named Libby on their op-ed page. Nevermind that Libby, Cheney, Rove, Armitage and Hadley were intent to use the press shield to conceal their vicious and criminal disclosure of Plame undercover CIA identity.

So let’s put the Bush admin officials who are incontempt of congress in jail using congressional inherent contempt until they testify as is required under oath, the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
