I snuck off and read the Epilogue while the kids were still dancing around the room, while the brown van was still making deliveries down the street.

Bahahaha. We’re cut from the same cloth. We were returning from WV and stopped by an outlet mall. My daughter [college age] didn’t want to wait until we got home to pick up her copy of HP @ B&N, so she got one there.

She got tired of reading & took a nap in the back seat, so I grabbed the book & read the last 50 pages.

Evil Mom. But what can I say, I’m impatient.

Thinking of Cheney: I must tell this story. My husband manages a car dealership (everyone is probably groaning). Anyway, he once had an assistant manager who was a real ass. Napolean complex. During my husband’s vacation, the ass was in charge. One year, while we were vacationing, the ass fired 3 people. We got home to a million messages on our answering machine from scared, confused (former) employees who didn’t know whether they were really out of a job. Hubby had to rush to work before any paperwork went through, get everyone back to work and ’speak’ to the asst. mgr.

So, why do you think Bush is still so unbothered by the problems of the world? He’s given the whole world an ulcer and he blathers on about how peacefully he sleeps at night. Truly detached from the upheaval he’s caused.

W – I can barely say his name – is not “unbothered,” he’s oblivious and numb I’d say.

I tried to make the midnight Harry Potter party at the local bookstore. There were so many people there it wasn’t possible to move freely through the store. When the nice woman with the wristbands told me that we’d be lining up simply to pay for the book sometime after 1:00 a.m., I decided to go home. I’ll go back there to retrieve my book this afternoon, and Harry and I will spend the rest of the weekend together.

In the meantime, Christy, I hope your reunion is great, and it’s always fun to read about what The Peanut’s doing!
