On -topic! (-: Just want to thank Howie for Blue America! I had signed up some months ago for monthly automatic deductions for Blue America. It feels good every time the receipt shows up in my email inbox! I recommend it to all as a painless way to support Blue America - besides I don’t have try to remember to do it!

And of course, many thanks as always to Jane and Christy for FDL!!!! We are all better citizens (and saner, most likely 9-: ) because of it!!

OT, but essential:

Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq

Ornicus has more.

This clearly violates about half the first Ten Amendments. It makes the US Government, a dictatorship. This mandate ignores Congress, takes away all individual rights, and is quite impeachable. Nuff said.
Sec. 3. For purposes of this order:

(a) the term “person” means an individual or entity;

(b) the term “entity” means a partnership, association, trust, joint venture, corporation, group, subgroup, or other organization; and

(c) the term “United States person” means any United States citizen, permanent resident alien, entity organized under the laws of the United States or any jurisdiction within the United States (including foreign branches), or any person in the United States.

Sec. 4. I hereby determine that the making of donations of the type specified in section 203(b)(2) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(2)) by, to, or for the benefit of, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order would seriously impair my ability to deal with the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, and I hereby prohibit such donations as provided by section 1 of this order.

Sec. 5. For those persons whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order who might have a constitutional presence in the United States, I find that, because of the ability to transfer funds or other assets instantaneously, prior notice to such persons of measures to be taken pursuant to this order would render these measures ineffectual. I therefore determine that for these measures to be effective in addressing the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, there need be no prior notice of a listing or determination made pursuant to section 1(a) of this order.

Bush is going to veto a bi-partisan bill for health insurance for children and ask for $80 billion more for Iraq…

it is unspeakable.
I never would have believed I could feel such intense hatred for someone I have never met.

Perhaps it’s time for an ‘environmental president’.

anyone in particular you had in mind? :)

Brisingamen @ 52

Nequals1 @ 43

Question: Is there a blog or blogs which focus on domestic policy? I am on a hunt for health, education, labor, transportation, energy, economics, housing - all of the quality of life issues, if you will.

It does get discussed here — but unless, and until, the illegal occupation of Iraq ends, there’s going to be very little money for domestic policies.

Didn’t you hear this morning’s news? Bush is going to veto a bi-partisan bill for health insurance for children and ask for $80 billion more for Iraq…

Thanks, Ghostman, too. My blog is all health policy *g*, and I just finished a post on this very topic, Brisingamen.

I know that many blogs write about policy ISSUES, but I’m looking for a blog or blogs that are devoted to policy as a major theme, so that the policy platforms, agendas and contexts are illuminated, discussed and provide resources for meta political blogs and bloggers.
