Senator Feinstein said this war is “crippling our military”. Just how many sodiers have been injured? At least 50,ooo.. some will never recover.

Many of these Senators are responsible for these injured soldiers. When will we hear one of these Senators “step up to the plate” and accept responsibility for their 2002 war vote, accept responsibility for their part in this disaster?

Joining in for a little, with a big heart full of love for our Jane and a hot pok*r for all these damned Senators of either stripe. Although I understand intellectually that this kind of exercise is necessary, my patience is thin. Watertiger’s site, thanks to tengrain, has yet another photo of Cheney asleep during some meeting, yet these gooper senators have had his hand up their butts for 6 years; now we’re supposed to care what they say or trust it? I don’t think so.

I hope there is Dem backbone in the room, I have just tuned in. I send them all blessings for clear thought and open hearts. I also send a swift kick in the pants to DO THEIR JOBS!!!!

Watching the Tour de France on tivo. I caught a bit of it live this morning at the gym, now we are heading up a haute categorie climb, which is to be followed by a 37 km descent. What’s catching your eye in the news and on the blogs this evening?

Well, I’ve been a broken record today… trying to raise some awareness of a unique and important opportunity to save women who have been oppressed in the worst ways imaginable and on U.S. soil, no less.

Frankly, I’m getting a little frustrated that this isn’t “selling itself” so to speak around the blog-o-sphere. (That’s not a shot at anybody here.)

In a nutshell, for decades women have been treated like meat in the Northern Mariana Islands. They’re lured there from third-world countries, enter U.S. territory completely legally to work, and then they are forced into prostitution and what is essentially slave labor. Finally, they are deported.

It makes me sick and the MSM hasn’t spent a single moment shining a light on it. Now that the people who allowed it to happen — Tom DeLay, Jack Abramoff & Co. — are no longer in power, these human rights violations can be stopped.

Nothing will be done, though, unless good Americans put pressure on the Senate to fix the problem. They will be debating S.1634 in a hearing at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

If we squander this opportunity to help these women (and men), it will be to our everlasting shame. Opportunities like this do not come very often and the people who need help are completely powerless right now.

Gravel was the senator who entered the papers into the Congressional Record. He told us all that in those days when they planned for a filibuster they would get fitted with colostomy bags and would often just pee in their pants on the floor of the Senate. (very few if any women in the Senate in those days).

Lets talk about decorum and dignty, shall we? Just imagine the repig senators in that state of being.

the coverage C-Span2, I think this is wonderful. It is going to allow each and every republican to come up and spout crap that their constituents are going to get to see about how they don’t give a crap about our troops or the people of this country. It is also going to be conspicuous to show what demo’s do not appear and have nice things to say about the killing. The pubs will rid us of themselves, but dem criminals are going to have to be removed by concerted effort by the people in this election. We elected some real trash by accident. We need to fix that. Reyes, Mollohan, Murtha and a lot of others need to start explaining why they got fat on the public’s dime.

The real deal with Landrieu, I think, is that they “use” her for votes for the R’s, in exchange for occasional “bones” that they throw her to get help post-Katrina. She’s been in Steven’s back-pocket for awhile, it seems to me. JMHO

Next week, on July 25, the new minimum wage will kick in. The Pirates of Saipan will use it to fire thousands of long-time workers. Then they will have 30 days to find a new job. Then they will be on a 45 day clock to deportation.

That gives us 75 days (until October 8) to pass a final bill and have it signed into law. If it takes longer, more workers will be cleansed from the CNMI and denied justice.

We need to stand with them as they fight for justice.

The stories of the abuse on the CNMI helped us defeat folks like Richard Pombo and Conrad Burns. We have the Senate because we used the story of the CNMI to win votes. We owe these workers justice.

Let’s not fail.

The real deal with Landrieu, I think, is that they “use” her for votes for the R’s, in exchange for occasional “bones” that they throw her to get help post-Katrina. She’s been in Steven’s back-pocket for awhile, it seems to me. JMHO

She does have to beg to get anything, and you can’t wear your liberalism on your sleeve and get elected statewide in La. However, her heart is in the right place. Her father desegregated New Orleans and her family truly believes in social and economic justice.

First check travelocity.com and also the cheaper airlines like JetBlue or Southwest or AirTran to see if they fly from your city. If the cheap ones don’t then go with what’s on travelocity but go directly to the airline’s web site rather than book it through travelocity. You can usually save a few bucks that way. At least that’s my method. And I’d rather deal with the airlines directly.
