Ah, late to the game, but I’d just say: any fans of Garbage who listen through Curve’s Döppelganger will get the same feeling as Denis Leary fans listening to Bill Hicks. They did it first, and they did it better.

(And the Peel Session they did around that time is possibly even better than the album.)

…..and when you compare what Bobo said about Fuckwad and what Peggy Noonan said, they are BOTH laying subtle hints that W has to be on some serious pharmacological “worldview” shapers.
i rarely read Noonan and i have hardly ever read Brooks, but if they come away from a meeting with him and both describe his mood and tone in the way that they did, it surely merits reading between the lines. Rulers used to, and as recently as Sadam, have tasters to check their food to make sure they weren’t being poisoned. the only question i have is, is Fuckwad self-medicating or is Chick Daney taking care of it?

Applebees sponsors Bill O’Reilley who tonight called for a boycott of Jet Blue because the airline is a sponsor of Yearly Kos.

Okay~ I wonder if Applebee’s INTERNATIONAL would really appreciate the revelation that they sponsor the anti-Arab, anti-Mexican, anti-Brazilian, etc. spews of Dild O’Reilly!

Applebee’s has franchises in Bahrein, Brazil, Canada (19), Chile,
Ecuador, Egypt, Greece (2), Guatemala, Honduras (4), Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mexico (lots! 19 ), Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

I don’t think that Applebee’s would be appreciative of it being widely known that the sponsor O’Reilly’s racist and extremist claptrap.

Bad for business “down in the neighborhood” and all that!

ET, I felt the same cosmic shift when I heard that about Joe Wilson.

I am thinking very hard about Joe’s endorsement of HRC. I respect that this family sees things I know nothing about.

Maybe I should try to learn more about those very things.

i admire joe and valerie wilson a great deal. they are smart, and courageous beyond belief.

that doesn’t mean i like joe wilson’s politics. i don’t. in fact, i reject his concept of what our foreign policy should be. did you read the thread when sestak was here for blue america?

Waccamaw, there’s a vast ocean of ignorance out there. Where to start. One of our charity’s actual goals is to fight stupidity. It could be phrased more politely, but that’s part of what we’re trying to accomplish.

Works on this side of the ocean too.

being a curious type of person, i read the whole thing. Brooks did something interesting at the conclusion of his piece. He compared Fuckwad’s world view with that of Tolstoy, and he left us to choose. Now, who would you choose, Fuckwad or Tolstoy?
