Pach — You’re the best! Maybe not the best writer (see TRex and Jane) or the best analyst (see Christy), but the best, biggest progressive heart (not to slight the others, but you wear yours on your sleeve). As long as your presence hovers over this space, we will treasure it and your contributions. Even behind the scenes, it’s you (and people like you) who make firedoglake the best blog in the land.

Thank you for all that you do.

well said!

Since belle1 and Tross have blazed an easily marked path for delurking, if anyone else is out there waiting for a good time, this is a great time.

If you don’t speak, we won’t know what FDL means to you and where FDL fits within your life.

I have discovered the “delurk” is mightier than the sword. My thanks to the ladies of the lake.

I guess everybody went upstairs but I have to add my two cents here. How FDL has most affected my thinking: By making me a lot more aware of the bull—- put out by the Mighty Wurlitzer and its agents. When I was the most proud of FDL: Everything associated with the Libby trial, especially the liveblogging. I kept on telling all my friends that FDL should have gotten a Pulitzer for it. Thanks Jane, Pach, Christy, Marcy, TRex, Swopa, commenters, and the whole crew.

Ok, I admit that I am a lurker, but I love reading the blogs and the posts. My best to you Pach. I am not much for posting, but love to read what people who have the same feelings that I have are saying. The disgust and fear of this administration has me on edge. I too was raised by parents who were FDR fanatics. They lived hard during the depression and put the belief in the Democratic principles in my heart. Long live FDL and I will continue to read and relish every word. My best to you all.

Firedoglake has given me a hell of an education on how our government works, explained the pesky details of our legal system and constitutional law, and features some of the best political insights I have been able to find. I can keep up with what is going on without risking a spike in my blood pressure because everyone here is not only wallowing brazenly and without apology in reality, but they are witty and snarky and share my values. There is a feeling here that is like spending an evening in the home of cherished friends with similar political tastes. FDL is a virtual gathering of individuals with varied backgrounds and areas of expertise. Here I can find smart, articulate discussion on almost every subject worth talking about. I love the lake! Especially late and late late night. I have to admit to an addiction to anything oversight related. I adore the scent of searing Republican flesh. Ahhh, it’s finally subpoena season!

One or two after the one that’s your favorite, Pach…this one and the one right after it. Christy was on fire. She could see clearly what many are only now realizing: The Laws Need Not Apply.

In 2004 I bought a modest home far out in the woods, moved in just before elction time. Shortly after the second stolen election I unplugged almost everything for about 18 months, no television, no computer, no telephone, just music, books, and the great outdoors. When I turned the television on winter ‘06 it took about a month before I just let out a scream (thank gawd I have no close neighbors) and opened the ole powerbook for something, anything online besides what I was catching on PBS and MSNBC.. I had never heard of a blog before but within an hour or so I was muddling through my second blog find, Talk Left, informative but the commenters wanted to speak legal only, even when discussing the Rolling Stones.. Somehow a link to FDL popped up and the rest is blog history. Third find was the charm in my blog home shopping excursion.

All my life I have been a man of action and though I still feel guilty about my simple comfortable life to far away from a capitol city to raise the kind of hell we need right now, FDL gave me the information and so many positive directions in which to direct my outrage armed with the knowledge and the shared resolve all of us have.

What happened in the run up to Nov. ‘06, as TSF says, changed everything. For me FDL was the place that made it possible to be part of the change.

One thing I really want is to join in on a small or massive protest or two or three this year. My US out of Iraq sign is almost 17 years old and only one arrest. I do believe it has a few more demonstrations in it. *g*

I have a feeling the time is near to be ready for inconvienient actions.. many of us may have to take it up a notch, buy candles, get colorful, get public, get loud.

The old school live blogging.

Since you’re going to be working the handles,I’d like to make a format suggestion. Not that I’d advise copying anyone, but TNH has a feature on the upper right side of the column called “Recent Posts” where one can click to particular essays without having to scroll down to find them. Normally this is not such a chore, but when I log on to find Sara Taylor, Part 3, or Gonzales, Part 6, I would like to be able to go directly to Part 1 and later after doing something else (huh, like housework) come back to Part 2, without having to scroll around to find my place. Think you can fix that for me?
