Christopher, first, I don’t speak for Darcy. Second, I think we disagree on tactics. My role, as a local blogger, is to try to keep the opposition and the media honest. Trust me, I know from trolls, and I know so-called “Union Fireman” very well. You want to see rude? Read my comment threads once in a while and see what has come from my zero-moderation policy.

It would be nice if campaigns were simply about honest, open, detailed debates on the issues. They’re not. They’re about winning. To ignore the fact that some people on the other side approach politics as a blood sport is to cede the arena to Rove and his cohorts.

Reichert is kinda the Rudy Guiliani of the Pacific Northwest and his manly law and order cred sits on just as rotten and flimsy of a foundation. Arresting big name bad guys gets you lots of press, if it happens to take years and decades to find said bad guy, no problem, just more press for longer.

So all of Seattle and Bellevue is sending Darcy MONEY. Pissing off Karl…..

I wanted to hear Darcy speak. I didn’t want to hear Talking Points. I surely don’t care about who’s good looks buys a vote.

I was very disappointed in Darcy’s last campaign — I got a LOT of mail from her campaign and it was all about Reichart, almost nothing about her. And please, can we have a different photo other than the little miss sunshine one? I mean the people here were dumb enough to elect Reichert once (now twice) so they must think being a ‘tough’ ex-sheriff is a good thing for ‘fighting terrorists’. Not saying she should play that game, but at least not play into their hands by choosing a campaign photo that makes her look like a ’sweet little girl’. I truly wish she had won. It was so close I really think she could have with a slightly different approach.

In terms of money spent I agree, it was a very poor ad cycle that didn’t disseminate anything about where she stood on anything (the Cantwell campaign was the same), in many ways her campaign failed to respond to (an equally flawed) Reichart attack/-ve campaign.

Her advisors made the same mistake as those of Kerry with the “swift boat veterans”, the best form of defence is attack.

Hope you enjoyed your high. At least the rest of us learned something.

Gosh, thanks Cristopher. There’s just one little problem, I’m just speaking for myself. I despise people who come to a thread like this and leave half-witted insults with nothing to back them up. If they have a serious case to make, then they should make it. If they want to insult people without providing any substance, as far as I’m concerned they can go elsewhere.

She will be hard pressed to get those swing votes she needs in the more rural portions of the 8th.

I kinda feel like the poster above. I came here to “read” what she had to say about important issues. What I got was a “social hour” with friends and supporters. Some social scheduling was taken care of, and one of her favorites, smokes a darn good salmon, and is willing to share it with Darcy. Oh I also forgot to mention the $$$$$ that were raised for her.
