If Bluey really wants to hurt Iran and Al Queida we could take all the billions we spend on the war buy every American a hybrid car and create a lack of demand driven drop in the price of oil. If oil prices drop to prewar levels then how will Iran pay for their nuclear program? Where will Al Queida get money if the Arab fundementalists have to start cliping coupons as their oil wealth disappears. We could build high speed monorails like the Japanese and use them for short trips instead of airplanes and save even more oil. Ha! who says Democrats don’t have ideas?

A counterterrorism official familiar with a five-page summary of the document — titled “Al-Qaida better positioned to strike the West” — called it a stark appraisal. The analysis will be part of a broader meeting at the White House on Thursday about an upcoming National Intelligence Estimate.

Unclear — her message last night said original was to be 6:15, then follow up at 7:15. And she went on at 7:25. Anyone see the prior hour?

The ditz interviewer said “sectarian violence was down”? Then the mortar attack in the green zone I heard about yesterday is no big deal? How many bridges in Bagdad have been destroyed since the surge? CNN your a news organization how come we can’t get any numbers on the Mercs killed in Iraq? I mean they are still American dead right? What about American contracter deaths what is the true number of Americans killed in this war? Its been six years or so isn’t it about time you guys start giving us some basic information about this war? The number of Americans who have died is up since the surge so how can sectarian violence be down?

Jane mentioned the shelling in the Green Zone, just before referring to fantacist Lieberman. The various news report repeat the point that “sectarian killings are down” — but then don’t mention “in Baghdad” but not countrywide and doesn’t count everything, etc, etc. This interviewer just wanted to have the last word. And of course, John Roberts is very pro-Bush/war — but he’s struggling this a.m. with the reality-based news on al Qaeda.
