You know, I TOTALLY misunderstood the new Wonders of the World vote thing. I thought they were asking for the NEW Seven Wonders, meaning MODERN wonders (modern meaning almost anything post “Ancient World”). Machu Picchu, by my original reckoning, wouldn’t have fit…but then I was having major problems coming up with ANYTHING in the modern times (post Rennaissance) that I would classify as a “wonder”. Certainly NOTHING matches anything of the Ancient wonders: the pyramids, the Hanging Gardens, Colossus (sorta like Lady Liberty but given the time period, MUCH more impressive than Lady Liberty as an accomplishment).

Anyway, bravo to Machu Picchu and the other non-modern winners.

ARE there any really modern wonders? Anyone? I suppose in their own way “little” things like the Lunar Lander with human footprints around it, the Mars Rover…

The slimy Matt Drudge happily informs us on the DrudgeReport that if the LiveAid concert had not occurred, then there would be more trees on the earth, due to the electricity costs.

Drudge’s inference is that Gore is a hypocrite to use electricity while wanting to save the planet. No doubt, Drudge wants to smear Gore, rather than considering what Gore has to say. Even if Gore were using an outhouse, Drudge would complain that he was hypocritical because his toilet paper destroyed trees.

Of course, Drudge neglects to mention that if DrudgeReport were not on computer servers, there would be less costs, etc.

Watch for Edwards haircut reports in another day or two, to be played-up alternately with electricity-costs-to-the-environment whine.

I’m Googling my ass off and all I could find was that forum article which I now see is tin foil hattery. But if ground crew in the Air Force are fuckin with the Veep’s plane, then dayum!

It may have been disappeared. Google is compliant when teeth are shown. and in this case, i could see them being shown. it is scary stuff.

Alfred,

Watch your back, my good man! That’s the bad news. The good news is that we know the Navy stiffed him already and that he’s been busy getting top Naval officers reassigned who are willing to push his agenda. But this is the first sign I’ve seen that the USAF is pushing back in the face of the rapture crowd there. Can this be hidden? I doubt it. Generator failure, my ass!

DING

AnnieW @ 281

Yeah, the only “diversion” stuff I can find is the last Feb. diversion (or non-diversion according to Cheney) to Singapore.

Nothing more recent.

That hoax page that was linked to was scary. I’m glad I hadn’t fallen for something like that.

what is even scarier to some is that the intel community regularly put out stuff like that about sovblock weapons and troop strength whenever the iron triangle boys needed to get an appropriation bill through congress.
