Today, Tony Snow invited President Clinton and the Democratic Congress to (ahem) knock themselves out regarding the Libby commutation.
I have a much, much better idea:
Mama Said Knock You Out
Don't call it a comeback
I been here for years
Rockin my peers and puttin suckas in fear
Makin the tears rain down like a MON-soon
Listen to the bass go BOOM
Explosion, overpowerin
Over the competition, I'm towerin
Wreckin shop, when I drop these lyrics that'll make you call the cops
Don't you dare stare, you betta move
Don't ever compare
Me to the rest that'll all get sliced and diced
Competition's payin the price
[Chorus:]
I'm gonna knock you out (HUUUH!!!)
Mama said knock you out (HUUUH!!!)
[REPEAT 4X]
Don't u call this a regular jam
I'm gonna rock this land
I'm gonna take this itty bitty world by storm
And I'm just gettin warm
Just like Muhummad Ali they called him Cassius
Watch me bash this beat like a skull
Cuz u know I had beef wit
Why do u riff with me, the maniac psycho
And when I pull out my jammy get ready cuz it might go
BLAAAAW, how ya like me now?
The river will not allow
U to get with, Mr. Smith, dont riff
Listen to my gear shift
I'm blastin, outlastin
Kinda like Shaft, so u could say I'm shaftin
Old English filled my mind
And I came up with a funky rhyme
[Chorus]
[LL]
Breakdown!!!
Shadow boxin when I heard you on the radio (HUUUH!!!)
I just don't know
What made you forget that I was raw?
But now I got a new tour
I'm goin insane, startin the hurricane, releasin pain
Lettin you know that you can't gain, I maintain
Unless ya say my name
Rippin, killin
Diggin and drillin a hole
Pass the Ol' Gold
[Chorus]
Shotgun blasts are heard
When I rip and kill, at WILL
The man of the hour, tower of power, I'll devour
I'm gonna tie you up and let you understand
that I'm not your average man
when I got a jammy in my hand
DAAAAAM!!!!! Oooooohh!!
Listen to the way I slaaaaay, your crew
Damage (UHH) damage (UHH) damage (UHH) damage
Destruction, terror, and mayhem
Pass me a sissy so suckas I'll slay him
Farmers (What!!!) Farmers (What!!!)
I'm ready (we're ready!!!)
I think I'm gonna bomb a town (get down!!)
Don't u neva, eva, pull my lever
Cuz I explode
And my nine is easy to load
I gotta thank God
Cuz he gave me the strength to rock
HARD!! knock you out, mama said knock you out
[Chorus]

TRex!!
I’m third, and I’m here.
Love it! I was walking around all day saying yes, we’ll be doing some knocking out all right.
Woohoo! Excellent rallying cry, TRex.
That infernal spinning comment wheel tipped me off!!!
I love that bunny picture! ICHC is on my long list of blogs to check everyday.
And yes, it’s way past time to ATTACK!! ATTACK!! ATTACK!!
Fighting back feels good.
TRex, I bet you have a lot of fun writing these.
haha! Great choice Trex. Still one of the coolest songs when i was fairly young.
We can and we WILL knock ‘em out. One way or another!
Write On, Mary,

Sweet!
Love the attack bunny!
I love it when you get black
DrDick @ 10
Ever read a series of children’s books called BUNNICULA? Great fun. Used to read them to my son when he was 7 or 8.
Hi all, missed the first half of Late Nite, so I’m here for a bit of the second half.
TRex, I lurked my way all the way through the Late Nite thread but wanted to surface here to tell you what I think an outstanding piece of writing it was. A grim state of affairs, but I think with your Late Late Nite piece you have found the perfect antidote.
LoudounLib @ 14
Welcome LL
Bunny!!! run away.
All bunny, all the time.
thanks Tex, how’s it going? Are you all finally drying out?
Hey, LL.
bunny “strange”, or bunny “ha ha”?
TexB @ 13
OMG i had The Celery Stalks At Midnight in the 80s. *grins* I didnt’ track down the earlier book till i was in my 20s but those are great books. I love the POV from the housepets.

18 USC 2441
I think I want a custom made T-shirt with that on it.
aliasofwestgate @ 22
Those are the ones!
TexB @ 13
No, I do not think I have seen those. Then again, my oldest grandson is about your son’s age. Children’s books have gotten a lot edgier in many ways since my son was a child (let alone when I was).
punaise @ 21
bunny “strange ha-ha!”
neurophius @ 15
The attack bunny who tortures for freedom? Oh, wait - it must be something else.
LL we’re still soaking wet. I posted a whole bunch of Texas weather stories to my facebook profile. Turns out this is the worst flooding in 50 years. MIGHT end Sunday or Monday.
attack bunny with little pointy teeth!!
Mocha Dem @ 12
Mama, we’re all pink on the inside.
And now in a Bunny frenzy he eyes all rodents with as questionable characters. He was from the TSA.
hey anybody else think that Hil and Bill helped the tools inthe WH change teh subject?
Eureka Springs @ 23
Eureka, what is that?
TexB,
They’re great books. *grins* I was a voracious reader as a kidlet and i still am one. I finally got around to picking up Roger Zelzany’s Lord of Light. I’ve a thing for mythology, scifi, and politics in my bookishness nowadays. It’s either that or satire lately. My irrational fangirlishness for Terry Pratchett is legendary among my friends.
But those books were one of many great little fantasy series i picked up while growing up.
Don’t push me, cuz I’m close to the edge
I’m tryin’ not to lose my head …
DrDick @ 26
splitting hares?
Eureka Springs @ 23
What does it mean?
Tex I’ll check out those stories tomorrow (or later today), but in the meantime I definitely sympathize! We can’t hardly buy a drop of rain around here, much like many places here in the East. We’d gladly take some of that off of your hands.
Lindy @ 33
War crimes criminal code (I think) H/T to Steve
thats he deals with as questionable characters, sorry
Eureka Springs @ 39
Yep. I Googled it earlier.
Dr. Dick, children’s books don’t come much edgier than Grimm’s Fairy Tales. Think Hansel and Gretel!

argo, if you quote the comment you are referring to, or type the name and number, it would help know what you are referring to :)
Alicia, facebook mail.
Loo Hoo. @ 42
That is true, but in my youth we only got the Disneyfied, sanitized versions. Interesting that we think of that as a children’s book, since it was actually a scholarly compilation of German folk tales.
Hey, I also want to point something out to our alienated friends who may be reading from outside the US.
Hey, we’d been trying to talk to deaf people in the WH and Congress! And when they finally hear us, they say they won’t be “intimidated” by their constituency!!! We’re doing every kind of activism we can within the system, but the system is broke.
I believe our government does deserve your rage and disdain, it has certainly earned ours
punaise @ 43
Malign, treacherous, manipulative, contemptuous, dismissive: yep, that’s Darth alright
Eureka Springs @ 36
Bunny-hana, sushi chef to thee and me
Loo Hoo. @ 42
Sleeping Beauty’s original ending wasn’t quite so PC either if i remember correctly. I know i’ve got a book of Grimm’s around my parents house somewhere. Though i think it’s being read to my niece since i’m not there. ^_^ Which makes me glad, since i LIKE the original versions. The bad ones were appropriately punished. In a child’s mind that’s all that matters. Bloodless endings left me going ‘huh?’ since i’d actually READ the originals and not just seen the Disney ones. If you ever read Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather, you’ll understand a bit more of where i come from. He explains it perfectly in that one.
(evil bookworm child, now grown up)

Does that expand the the office beyond it’s design? If not how we contract it to a bit more manageable office? Or is this dog lose forever?
Well, the temps have dropped down into the 70s, so I think I will go to bed. Take care and enjoy the snark.
When I used to teach 1st & 2nd grades, we all wrote apology letters from Goldilocks to the three bears. Had her commit to what she would do to make things right again. Just cause the kids were so uncomfortable with her getting away with it.

I’m told that the Military Commissions Act of 2006 watered down the War Crimes Act 18 USC 2441. I don’t claim to know exactly how. Does anyone have good information on that?
argosfalcon @ 51
looseheadprop wrote this earlier today
Floodwaters across the state have severely damaged or destroyed 1,000 homes, and that number is likely to rise, state officials said Thursday.
Storms have pounded the state since May 23, causing widespread rainfall and flooding that now has caused at least 13 deaths over the past 2 1/2 weeks.
The cost of property damage has not yet been assessed, said Jack Colley, chief of the state’s Division of Emergency Management. Colley said all the state’s major river basins are at flood stage, the first time that’s happened since 1957.
With more rain expected through much of the state Thursday and Friday, emergency officials were braced for even more damage. Colley said the state has already mobilized its largest ever flood response efforts of search and rescue teams and aid for flood damaged areas.
Assistance has come from government agencies helping in search and rescue and cleanup operations, as well as private charities such as the American Red Cross and Salvation Army operating shelters and feeding centers.
“Unprecedented,” Colley said at a news conference. “Mostly this time of year we’re fighting wild fires … The problem with this is, the water won’t go away.”
The impacted area covers 49 counties and 48,000 square miles from North Texas to the Rio Grande Valley, a section roughly the size of the state of Mississippi.
And with the National Weather Service expecting much of the area to get 1 to 3 inches of rain Thursday — with heavier localized storms — even the slightest amount could cause flash flooding where rivers, lakes and reservoirs are already full to the brim. Rainfall totals for the 24-hour period ending at 6 p.m. CDT Thursday included 5 inches at Palacios, 2.17 at Houston’s Hobby Airport, 1.88 at Rockport, 1.82 at Harlingen, 1.19 at Victoria, 1.15 at Huntsville and 1.14 at Longview.
Areas of concern included the Brazos, Sabine and Trinity rivers and Nueces River near Corpus Christi, Colley said.
The National Weather Service forecast rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches again on Friday, with some isolated heavier amounts.
Joel Veeneman, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said the Frio, Guadalupe and Nueces rivers had passed flood stage and could stay there for the next two to three days.
Most areas in South Texas have seen more than a foot of rain since Monday, he said. The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings for 20 counties across East and North Central Texas on Thursday.
“I urge all Texans to heed the warnings of their local leaders and take all possible precautions to stay out of dangerous situations as this severe weather continues,” Gov. Rick Perry said.
Concerns eased Thursday that a full Lake Texoma along the Oklahoma-Texas line would send floodwaters into the Red River.
Ross Adkins, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, said water could spill over the Denison Dam, but no major damage to homes was anticipated. The last major flood was nearly 5 feet over the spillway in 1990. This year’s level is expected to crest at 1 foot over the spillway.
Still, residents, particularly those living in farm areas near the river that forms the border between the two states, were warned to take precautions.
“(We’re) warning residents along the Red River to move all livestock, equipment and other necessary belongings to higher ground,” Bryan County, Okla., Emergency Management Director James Dalton said. “We are also urging residents to have an initial evacuation plan, should conditions threaten homes in the area.”
The latest death from the storms in Texas occurred early Thursday morning near Clifton in Bosque County. Leslie Featherston, 37, of Whitney, died when the car she was driving hydroplaned, collided with a curb and plunged into a creek, said Kathy Smith, spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Petro, Dan was saying in the last thread, Brian’s approval rating sank to 8%, my question is why didn’t parliament hold a ‘no confidence’ vote a lot sooner? *g*
Lindy @ 33
You asked and here is the answer:
TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 118 > § 2441
§ 2441. War crimes
(a) Offense.— Whoever, whether inside or outside the United States, commits a war crime, in any of the circumstances described in subsection (b), shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for life or any term of years, or both, and if death results to the victim, shall also be subject to the penalty of death.
(b) Circumstances.— The circumstances referred to in subsection (a) are that the person committing such war crime or the victim of such war crime is a member of the Armed Forces of the United States or a national of the United States (as defined in section 101 of the Immigration and Nationality Act).
(c) Definition.— As used in this section the term “war crime” means any conduct—
(1) defined as a grave breach in any of the international conventions signed at Geneva 12 August 1949, or any protocol to such convention to which the United States is a party;
(2) prohibited by Article 23, 25, 27, or 28 of the Annex to the Hague Convention IV, Respecting the Laws and Customs of War on Land, signed 18 October 1907;
(3) which constitutes a violation of common Article 3 of the international conventions signed at Geneva, 12 August 1949, or any protocol to such convention to which the United States is a party and which deals with non-international armed conflict; or
(4) of a person who, in relation to an armed conflict and contrary to the provisions of the Protocol on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Mines, Booby-Traps and Other Devices as amended at Geneva on 3 May 1996 (Protocol II as amended on 3 May 1996), when the United States is a party to such Protocol, willfully kills or causes serious injury to civilians.
They think they gave themselves a retroactive escape the death penalty card..let’s see what the courts say after 01/20/09.
Got a link for that flood update, TexB?
well the USC might be United State Code tile 18 section 2441. if its a jag code unknown.
