The Brooks thing was a howler. It illustrates the lawyer’s thing: “argue the facts if you have them, or argue the spirit, and with neither just make a lot of noise”.

Amazing and hilarious. It works in Canada, but probably shouldn’t be attempted in the USA, because Homeland Security will figure out a way to call this a threat and toss the Yes Men into jail without access to lawyers.

I’m almost speechless with admiration. Combined with Millenaryman’s activities at Independence Hall, which he described in the last thread, this kind of tactic might mark the formation of a more effective toolkit for taking protest public, at least at the stage of building a critical mass. Takes lots of logistics, though, as PW pointed out.

Regarding the “no underlying crime” tp: Something about Fitz’s sand-in-the-eyes metaphor just struck me yesterday. The umpire is responsible for the play where s/he is (Cheney: ’safe’ or ‘out’), and as the play comes that way, doesn’t need to worry about other plays from, say, the last inning, or some other ballgame that might be showing on the stadium tv (Armitage).

Fitz is a brilliant prosecutor with tons of patience. His words were chosen with precision. You can bet on it.
