Because of a heavy work schedule, I am allways late to these threads but it’s still important to me to involve myself at the Lake when I can, so here’s my little contribution:

This is a wonderful little book with all kinds of ideas for changing your world through simple knitted projects, from comfort blankets for stray pets and scared children to sweaters for Afghani kids and socks for soldiers. Check it out if you like to knit or want something to do that lets you sit in a chair and contribute mightily.

And I highly recommend “Make A Difference Day” as a place for finding inspiration and locating worthy causes. Started by USA Today, this annual October event highlights ordinary Americans who are making an extraordinary difference in the lives of others:

fish it is, then - tonight’s dinner: grilled yellowtail tuna caught by punaisette two days ago in the Sea of Cortez, packed in ice for the return trip. marinated in olive oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, lime juice, and cilantro. delish.

OMG, don’t forget the garlic bread,( fresh garlic fried in butter) and spread with blue cheese. Devinly!
