Not much, but we have a gorgeous view of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea on a clear morn from the parking lot!!! 13,000fters each, as seen from 500ft Elev.!!!

One of my favorite memories is visiting the Big Island when I was in high school in Honolulu. The first time I ever played in snow was on Mauna Loa in Hawaii! Since then I have seen far too much snow living in Chicago, New Jersey, and New York.

The Secret Trade Deal of 2007 has been officially delayed. Though the dealmakers are publicly claiming the deal was put off because of Peru and Panama’s domestic laws, it’s clear (not just from the late Friday press release) that K Street and their cronies in Congress are too afraid to bring the deals to the floor, for fear they will be defeated by a growing populist backlash in Congress.

sounds like the plan is to use the oversight process to build a record that will convince the voters to vote D. no impeachment, no jail time.

the oversight that we have now that will build the record that will allow us to get rid of them in a major way. So I believe that we are on the verge of an election that will be a decision for greatness…

Sure, I’m frustrated like everyone else at the stonewalling but, as I’ve written before-

“Better to stonewall the documents and be thought a criminal, than to turn over those documents and remove all doubt.”

I think it’s safe to say most people that read and contribute to FDL assume the withheld documents contain very incriminating stuff (me too).

So, putting yourself in their shoes (that “whoosh” you just heard was your morals & principles leaving, but hey- go check your bank account and stock options now) when would you prefer to face embarrassment, humiliation & possible jail time? Before the Boy Blunder leaves office, or after?

So, IMHO all the delay and legal wrangling means they have much to hide, and I have every confidence that Waxman, Leahy & Conyers will get that rock turned over eventually.

did anyone catch bill moyers last night? the first part of the show is on congress/bush trade deals from this past week. i’m just listening now – wow! highly recommended – looks like there are some big trade bills coming up for a vote in either july or september…. that need to be opposed. david sirota has been warning us about a sell out to corporate interests – looks like this is what has happened.
