It’s suspected that the death penalty might have been used as a wedge in my home state of Michigan as well, leading to the possible ouster of U.S. Attorney Margaret Chiara. No firm trail of information since Chiara has been extremely closed mouthed, and Congress hasn’t forced her to talk. The problem in MI is that the death penalty is not part of the state’s culture; it’s been outlawed for over a hundred years here. If it is discovered that Gonzo was pushing it here, it will do considerable damage to Bush’s basement JAR within the remaining fundie base in this state.

Somehow it’s fitting that Jane’s FireDogLake has been hot on trail of these natural born killers. I just hope the outcome is better…
