I agree with the “This is not news“. Its real nice salve but not news.

And ask yourself this: Why is the WaPo putting this front and center now? That’s the story….. why are they so willing to appear to “report news” now? Is it now peachy-keen with rover and bush and cheney? Given the trend of the WaPo front page for these years, it basically would have to have been ok’d by them, doncha think?

The WaPo should be reporting the criminal grounds for Cheney’s arrest, a bulleted list, and reporting the lack of charges being filed in Federal court on this day! Now, that’s news!!!

It strikes me that Cheney might be doing to Bush what the Facists in our government have been doing all along – blackmail.

Cheney, I’m sure, has something that will keep Bush under his thumb. It must be pretty bad.

Frankly, this administration has more of the Bush MO than that of Cheney. I don’t believe Cheney has been ghost-running the administration (at least not to a significant extent). If he had been it would show more of his fingerprints.

The Patriot Act has a provision in it that takes this idea a step further. Any person who protests U.S. government policy can also be labeled an enemy combatant. Why would that language be put in if there was no intention of using it?

Don’t count on it. Only about 5% of Congress cares, not enough to forge anything meaningful and the public is oblivious.

They are really sucking up to their patron with all this public talk of W “deciding.” He must like reading that about himself in his daily news summaries, or having them read to him I suppose.

Let’s face it. Cheney is Edgar Bergen and Bush is Charley McCarthy.

Like US attorneys, the VP of today serves at the pleasure of the president. Any impeachable offenses that Cheney has committed would have to be other than his merely usurping the office with Bush’s consent.

Big difference: the VP is an elected officer, not an appointed officer. Bush didn’t make Cheney VP, the voters did (however illegally it may have been done).
