TRex, I know your pain. I grew up in State College, PA, and now live in Auburn, AL. Neither town is particularly liberal, but they’ve been carved up at the state level and parked in ultra conservative congressional districts explicitly to nullify any nascent progressive spark.

Hugo Chavez isn’t perfect but he isn’t the devil or the dictator most Americans think he is. He’s been elected, overthrown, restored to power because of popular support, resisted a recall, and then re-elected. That makes him at least as legitimate as George Bush. Our own oligarchs just don’t like him because he isn’t our boy and he doesn’t kowtow to corporations or American military power.

An Irish film crew happened to be in Caracas doing a biography of Chavez at the moment when the CIA-backed oligarchs attempted the coup—so they were able to film the events, in context. This is the story you won’t hear about in this country.

I hope you neo-con PNAC, A*P*C, Republican war criminals keep doing just what you are doing in this article, singing to a shrinking choir about how you support treasonous acts, and the coverup by lies.. Keep showing your true dark side by defending high crimes.

This is a blog…not the newspaper or a one way conversation on the Charlie Rose show. We know who you are and if someone comes along in need of a quick primer, buddy, we can start with the trial in Chicago and Libbys trial, and go all the way back.

Either you really don’t know the particulars of this case, don’t care, or just intend to spread lies as far and wide as the WAPO will let you. Was this your turn at the neocon drawing of short straws week?

Let me ask, have you ever written an article like this for someone who wasn’t actually guilty of perjury and obstruction in an investigation of acts of treason during war time? Bet you feel so special…since the idea of feeling like a sell out probably never occurred to you or at least not in decades. Heck, have you ever defended anyone who wasn’t rotten to the core of war criminality?

I’ll agree with you this much..Scooter shouldn’t be the only one to fall… he should rat out the folks who encouraged him to spill the beans on Valerie and Joe and cause the fall of what was quite possibly the most important arm of the CIA investigating WMD potential in places like Iran.. But naturally…you all don’t want anyone to know the truth about their non existence right now anymore than you wanted the non existence of WMD’s in Iraq to be known a few years ago.
