Police shattered a global Internet pedophile ring, rescuing 31 children and rounding up more than 700 suspects worldwide, British authorities said Monday.

Some 200 suspects are based in the United Kingdom, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection center said. The ring was traced to an Internet chat room called “Kids the Light of Our Lives” that featured images of children being subjected to horrific sexual abuse.

Is anyone else freaked by Pat Buchannan saying Scooter should go to jail? Could he be reading the Lake?

Mclaughin Group this weekend he said Scooter lied and should go to jail. I was joking when I suggested he was reading the Lake, but does anyone have a better explanation. A Paul going to Damascus conversion perhaps?

Republicans are able to frame the debate on Immigration because it’s all they talk about. They don’t want to talk about war or Bush or anything else. Democrats have other things to talk about and would rather not get involved with such a heated issue. But it disgusts me that a very small, hateful minority – even within the Repug party – has managed to get their disgusting agenda into this debate, by lying and shouting and stirring up racism. It’s sickening.

Republicans are very good at using Orwellian Titles as a way to hide their true intentions. Their immigration debate is racism at it’s very core.

… and their DoJ scandal/caging/black voter suppression is very KKK.

… and their torture of prisoners/trampling on human rights is very NAZI.

I’m late to the party–the early morning party. Haven’t been around the ‘Lake much lately. Gave myself a whopping bad case of plantar fascitis last week [bad shoe choice for a conference in NYC, and paid a horrible price, and no, the shoes were not high heels, they were lovely nubuck clogs with cork soles]. Mr. NJP had to take me to the emergency room Thursday night. I’m just starting to walk around the house again, and will try a short walk in the neighborhood this morning, before the day heats up.

Mr. NJP is a real trouper: taking care of me, plus tending to his aging and infirm parents. He’s organizing a “letters to the editors” campaign for one of his peace groups, targeting newspapers in central/south NJ where there are vulnerable Republican congressmen: Mike Ferguson in the 7th CD and Chris Smith in the 4th CD. The trick about LTEs is that you need a long list of talking points, so letter writers can pick and choose points. You don’t want all the letters to be the same. Fortunately, Mr. NJP is a very good writer, and an even better strategic thinker. [I know, I know. I’m prejudiced.]

Ice coffee is in the big pitcher in the fridge. There’s a big order of bagels, and a little lox. Cream cheese, some fresh chopped chives, a little lox on a poppy bagel for me this morning. Help yourselves.
