You didn’t think my first nite at the wheel was gonna get less gay as it got later, didja?

“You didn’t think my first nite at the wheel was gonna get less gay as it got later, didja?”
Well, you have certainly raised expectations as to future entries.
Didn’t you all love the way the talk shows today were reading obituaries of BushCo?
Unfortunately, they’re still in charge of the Executive, and Gonzo is cracking the whip over the USAs to get them firmed up for the 2008 election-stealing caper. {sigh}
Begone, Gonzo!
Begone, Rove!
Begone, Cheney!
Begone, Bush II!

Sheesh, those are some lips, Teddy.
Is there any particular reason, why I can’t watch a You-tube posted here, from start to finish, in Fire Fox, but, when I switch to MSN, I have no problem??? I’ve noticed it before, and would switch over if I wanted to watch it, however, I thought now would be a good time to ask about it!!!
Valley Girl @ 8
I knew I had to set the bar high — TRex has such big booties to fill. And next Sunday is actually SF Pride, so there’ll be a whole ‘nother excuse for more gayitude.
Those lips remind me of a Rolling Stones concert – remember the one with the huge lips?
CT, there are still glitches being worked out due to the upgrade. We try to please all browsers all the time but when there is a major upgrade, it takes a while to tweak everything.

Teddy, as a self professed San Franian, I think you owe it to the LEFT Coast to feature the likes of Devine, Sylvester and such, instead of hyping the shameless and glamless hapless wannabe’s of the OTHER coast.
If yer gonna stuff yer trousers for appeal . . . at least use local socks!!!!!

I still gotta consider one of the highlights of my concerting life, and I was ALL over it mid 60’s thru early 80’s in SF Bay Area . .
One of my highlights was early/mid 70’s. Stones at The Civic Auditorium, just AFTER they had released Exile . . I think.
Anyhoots. Mic, Keith, Charlie, Bill . . . and for the life of me I have NO idea who the other git player woulda been, Ronnie or maybe left over and last gasp of Mic Taylor?
But, Ian Stewart, AND, Nicky Hopkins on keys (I think).
Full horns.
The Lady Backup Sangers (rape murder, just a shot away . . yadda yadda likely STILL was Merry Clayton?).
One of the greatest shows I’ve ever seen . . . easily.
And I’m an ADAMANT fan of their garage band days and R&B covers and their first four or five albums . . .

Well, seeing as there’s no one around, I can tiptoe in and secretly “think” all over this thread.
It’s getting to be HS graduation time here, and I’ve been thinking about folk singer Utah Phillips’ address to a group of young students.

Good morning, pups. Today the NYT has Cohen and Kristof. Roger Cohen says that Iraq is probably not going to get measurably better in the next half-Friedman. Mr. Kristof tells us about dinner with a warlord in eastern Congo.

If Democrats can’t face Fox News then how can they face Al Quieda? This Republican talking point should be challenged, for example Bill O’Reily could debate his program’s factual record on another network without any topic being off limits before we consent, like he would do that. Plus a fact checker checking him working like Jim Cramer’s research people on Mad Money do on the fly with realtime results. Same goes for Hannity, Malkin Lou Dobbs and the rest WE will debate them when they EXPLAIN their fact challenged (cough) reporting on a neutral network with a fact checker ON PRIME TIME TV. Also if any of the Republican candidates want to debate on Fox we WALK they need the expousre more than us! On Presidential debates no limits on topics discussed beforehand, no agreement on questions before hand, candidates can ask each other direct questions, lets do it old school like the League of Women Voters use to do. If the Republicans think Fox is tough we hit them with explain Fox’s lies on prime time. We hit them with Republicans are to chicken to debate League of Women Voters style we must explain how boring current debates are and the LWV fair rules. We hit them with we want a debate an exchange of ideas we have already heard the GOP talking points we don’t need to hear their memorized answers again. We hit them with YOU need this debate agree to our terms or our TV ads will be all about explaining LWV debate rules how they make debates interesting and aren’t Americans tired of being bored by “limited everything agreeed in advance debates”. We need people who can think on their feet and not listen to the voice in their ear piece (Bush debate with strange sq bulge on back of jacket). We need debaters who don’t have to steal their opponets debate questions (Ronald Regean thief George Will). We need people who can think for themselves. A fair debate will give America a chance to judge for themselves. Besides does anyone really think Fox is fair and balenced or biased and lying? Given current polling 70% of America would likly agree with our view. Heck I want that question polled and the question ” do you trust Fox to moderate a fair debate”? Then we could counter the “Democrats to scared to debate on Fox” talking point, with a MAJORITY OF America DOES NOT TRUST FOX News much less trusts them to moderate a fair debate!
Is anyone else freaked by Pat Buchannan saying Scooter should go to jail? Could he be reading the Lake?
things come undone @ 65
If the press doesn’t step into line, Bush threatens them by cutting their access. So I guess, this is the Democrats equivilant. I’m not sure it’s a good strategy, but I’m fine with it.
But of course, if Fox can’t have the Democrats, they are going to scream about it like this. That talking point comes directly from Fox. What else are they going to say?
Chertoff telling Morning Without Imus Joe that the amnesty bill is “gonna flush ‘em out.”
All along the “illegal immigrant” vs. “insta-legality” status arguments seem to me to be ignoring the prime question…
How does this bill compel anyone to come in and report? What if illegal immigrants–and the people who employ them–just ignore it?
What changes?
I’m stealing these statements from somebody at DKos. The diary went something like this:
If Bush can’t handle Cindy Sheehan how can he handle Al Quaeda?
If the Repubs can’t face MoveOn, how can they handle Iraq?
You get the idea. Dems keep getting slammed for ridiculous things and when the whole MSM is in on it…well…it’s effective propaganda.
Bob Schacht @ 40
I want some subpoenas to be issued now!
Why is Chertoff still in his job after Katrina? This guy is one of the most incompetent idiots Bush has put into office.
things come undone @ 70
Yeah, and the ones that have been issued need to be ENFORCED!
solai @ 64
We’re at Take Back America. Everyone is invited!
I’m at Pach’s. He’s in the shower. He makes great coffee, did I mention?
Chertoff is one of those that should NOT still have a job. It’s a disgrace.
He and Joe are blaming the residents of NOLA for not following the evacuation order.
Prairie Sunshine @ 68
Nothing changes I think the bill sucks I think it provides Republican Corporate interests a cheap work force and makes the imigrants rights as workers much less hopes of becoming citizens next to impossible. Why are Democrats supporting this?
I’m with you. This bill sucks. Personally, I hope it fails. It’s one of the issues that I’m willing to have tabled till we have more power and can write a decent bill. One with guarantees that immigrant workers get paid a decent wage. No lowering the ‘prevailing wage’ because you now have a workforce willing to be paid $2/hr.
Must go. Jane, have a nice day at the conference. See everyone later.
It’s not just Chertoff. I think the DHS was the biggest and most expensive waste of time ever committed in DC. The biggest bureaucracy ever created has no clear mission, overlaps with a dozen other security agencies, has been inundated by Bush with agencies he didn’t like, then forced into disfunction by incompetent Bushies like Chertoff and Brownie. What a mess. How are we ever going to get rid of this thing? There’s so much pork in it now.
Here is an idea to stop or slow immigration tell Mexico to start paying their workers a decent wage. With gold, silver and chocolate never mind the price there getting for oil Mexico is not a poor country they can afford it.
I don’t care what anyone says, but drag queens are the best! Love the video. Great way to wake up in the morning. ;-)
Republicans are able to frame the debate on Immigration because it’s all they talk about. They don’t want to talk about war or Bush or anything else. Democrats have other things to talk about and would rather not get involved with such a heated issue. But it disgusts me that a very small, hateful minority – even within the Repug party – has managed to get their disgusting agenda into this debate, by lying and shouting and stirring up racism. It’s sickening.
Sunny greetings from the heartland for Jane and Pach this morning. Have a fun day!
GeorgeSimian @ 81
Republicans are very good at using Orwellian Titles as a way to hide their true intentions. Their immigration debate is racism at it’s very core.
Good Morning, Firepups,
I’m late to the party–the early morning party. Haven’t been around the ‘Lake much lately. Gave myself a whopping bad case of plantar fascitis last week [bad shoe choice for a conference in NYC, and paid a horrible price, and no, the shoes were not high heels, they were lovely nubuck clogs with cork soles]. Mr. NJP had to take me to the emergency room Thursday night. I’m just starting to walk around the house again, and will try a short walk in the neighborhood this morning, before the day heats up.
Mr. NJP is a real trouper: taking care of me, plus tending to his aging and infirm parents. He’s organizing a “letters to the editors” campaign for one of his peace groups, targeting newspapers in central/south NJ where there are vulnerable Republican congressmen: Mike Ferguson in the 7th CD and Chris Smith in the 4th CD. The trick about LTEs is that you need a long list of talking points, so letter writers can pick and choose points. You don’t want all the letters to be the same. Fortunately, Mr. NJP is a very good writer, and an even better strategic thinker. [I know, I know. I’m prejudiced.]
Ice coffee is in the big pitcher in the fridge. There’s a big order of bagels, and a little lox. Cream cheese, some fresh chopped chives, a little lox on a poppy bagel for me this morning. Help yourselves.
Work for peace, every day.
things come undone @ 66

… and their DoJ scandal/caging/black voter suppression is very KKK.
… and their torture of prisoners/trampling on human rights is very NAZI.
Do I detect a pattern? *wink

Mclaughin Group this weekend he said Scooter lied and should go to jail. I was joking when I suggested he was reading the Lake, but does anyone have a better explanation. A Paul going to Damascus conversion perhaps?
Jane@ 85 Pat was also on some MSNBC program debating an African American person whoose name escapes me now and he said basicly the same thing Friday or Thursday?

31 children rescued, 700 suspects rounded up, authorities say
Some 200 suspects are based in the United Kingdom, the Child Exploitation and Online Protection center said. The ring was traced to an Internet chat room called “Kids the Light of Our Lives” that featured images of children being subjected to horrific sexual abuse.
Drag queens are an inappropiate topic for this blog.
Just in case it hasn’t been said yet…;)

Whew! Someone had to say it…. especially when it’s hard to tell where the lips end and the tongue begins.
It’s so confusing.
