I wish you all great good success with this Facebook thingie but will simply continue to plod along in forii of varying sorts. I am now off to celebrate the birth of my fourteenth grandchild (6-8)(seventh boy) (see age thingie), and that is quite enough, of both parentheses and revelations……..

I went to the facebook link, and you have to register before you can even see what you are getting into. Yeah, I read the long privacy policy statement, but not having actually participated in the facebook site, a lot of it didn’t make sense to me.

So, that’s the second reason I didn’t join up to try it out.

But, the general idea of finding a way for people to make connections for political action is a great one.

As I was looking through the privacy policy, the bit about third party advertisers and cookies and 1×1 gifs to track what ads are clicked on made me put the brakes on.
Think I’ll wait a bit-maybe someday we’ll find out just what AG Ashcroft wouldn’t sign off on….

We live in the shadow of Baylor Univ. and know tons of students in our community who literally share thousands of msg’s/friends via FB. It’s a great immediate feedback tool and conduit for networking. I check it daily and it updates me via my Bberry when someone’s “poke”s me. Great idea and thanks for starting this up to you and Pach!

Hee! Well, “poke” in FB terminology is as if you were sitting next to someone trying to get your attention they would, say, poke or tap you on the shoulder. “Poke” is the electronic version of such. It’s a “hey, what’s up?” sort of gesture in the fb universe (Note the right column of your FB account and you’ll see the option to “send a note”, “Poke a friend” yabba dabba…..

Now, as to your definition of “poke”….Uh, well, uh….I think I’m blushing now…..Hee!

If you are still there: the point I’m trying to make is that while what you are saying is no doubt true, I’m not sure how effective it would be for use vs. SC up here in ME. A few too many steps in the argument, methinks.
