I disagree…Scooter’s probably going to jail TODAY, or at least in the next couple days…

If his sentence overlaps Bush’s final 6 months in office, he might get a truncated term via a pardon, but my guess is that he’s cell-bound for now.

Considering what immigration has done to the Bushies and their fractured base, I also doubt King George intends to offer any pardons until he’s much closer to his glorious departure day, the more he loses his base, the bigger the body of impeachment supporters.

W WILL NOT go down in history with a big Clintonesque impeachment asterisk beside his name. Libby’s going to hang out to dry just long enough for Bush to be assured he won’t get impeached.

And he certainly DID know better. Thier pretentions are transparent, at best. This insults the very concept of real Justice.

Their open-lie, eye-winking willfulness is “an exquisite expression of the entitlement and arrogance that spawned the administration’s smear campaign against Joseph Wilson in the first place.”

They really do believe they have some bully authority above the courts and the legal system. They are a law unto themselves, the royal citizens of Cheneyland make their own rules, on the fly, and only use the laws on the books to persecute and disempower political opponents.

I’m with Christy on Jefferson. They need to toss him out of Congress pronto. Yes, I know that he’s innocent until proven guilty from a legal standpoint. But from an ethical standpoint, if the feds find $90,000 of cash in your freezer, you need to be telling the people either (a) a damn good story, or (b) you’re resigning immediately.

I agree. The timing of the charges may be suspect, and there are probably people out there who have done worse, but the charges sound substantive and believable to me. In fact, given some of the places he does business, it would be pretty much a miracle if he was not involved in corruption. Nigeria, for example, is notorious.

folks around here never seem to to tire of proclaiming this a country under the rule of laws…one of our most important of which is that the accused is innocent until proven gulty at the bar…
i agree jefferson should be removed from positions of responsibility until his case has been adjudicated…i do NOT agree he should be expelled…
and i’m no fan of his…
