to the libby-supporter-letters. . .

i’ll be blogging on their very-
compelling arguments shortly, but
i will note that even libby’s defense
team, in their filings of today, seem
to concede that most of the letters
will be public — now, it is all over,
save for the shouting — that being,
whether they get released before sentencing.

I was going to say the Republican outrage at Rich’s pardon is ironic in light of Bush’s subsequent foreign policy and the role of Libby in it, but doublethink is the better word.

What were the goods that Rich had on Clinton?
How were the goods collected on Clinton? Amdocs..Comverse Insofy?

Why was Fox forced to remove this four part series from their website? This four part report by Carl Cameron soon after 9/11 describes how Israeli based communication systems have had access to most phone records in the U.S.

It has something to do with a software program called ProMIS that was developed by Inslaw Technologies. The guy who developed it was driven into bankruptcy after his program was appropriated by the Feds.

Pollard used a prototype of the technology to hack into computers and then the info on the disks was automatically uploaded to orbiting satellites for transmission overseas.

ProMIS was actually mentioned in a news blurb shoortly after 9/11 when there was speculation that bin Laden had gotten his hands on it. That blurb, like Bush’s unfortunate, but true, Crusade remark was not repeated.

Let’s face it. Libby WILL be pardoned. Wouldn’t it be better to have it happen 15 months before the elections instead of Jan ‘09?

I usually lurk but your letter to the judge inspired me to post and give you a big thank you for what you have created here. You have opened a window on politics and law that has taught me so much.

I’ve heard it said that Mitt Romney is very rich and that he’s Mormon. How would that shape his vision of the America he would like to exist? Would we all be peasant workers except for Mitt and a few of his select friends? Would we all be converted to Catholic (per SC decisis) or Mormon (per Mittopia)?

Rudy Giuliani seems confused about events of 9/11 where he ‘lead’ America out of the dark. Perhaps he can think on it a while and recall the past, so he can begin to think about America of the future?

Hillary Clinton seems to have a clear picture of the America she wants to lead us to…at least it’s the one the polls say Americans might want. Can she lead? Are robots allowed to be President?

Barack Obama plainly laid out his view of the Iraq war during a recent interview. His view of things sounds a lot like John Kerry’s. He said we need to stand up the Iraq government so we can leave. I don’t know if he really believes we can finish the job Bush has begun or how many people he would leave in Iraq after we withdraw, but I know of nobody who voted for a Dem Congress in order to ’stay the course’. Obama’s idea of health care reform sounds about as wooden and irrelevant as Clinton’s, so let’s not go there. Does he have an image of a future America that’s really different than last week?

I poke sticks at those candidates becuase they’re getting a lot of media attention, but all the candidates need to rev up their speechifying skills and tell us what they want America to be.

A well-informed electorate being necessary…
