Suzi – you cuff anybody tnight?
Dude!
Not tonight, spidey :)
spidey – you all recovered from your trip?
my second time being first and I saw the 0 too
You listening to TRex, SteveA?
Congratulations, Spiderpaws.
no, am not recovered…try breathing straight exhaust fumes for 5 or 6 days…hard to swollow. Hey, full moon (a Blue Moon) Thursday night at 6:40 PM pacific in Sagitarius…also Mercury cruised into Cancer tonight so don’t expect miracles trying to figure stuff out for a few weeks, just bake cookies and snuggle up with a good book and a baby…or something
baking cookies sounds good, spidey – and i have a neighbor now 3 days overdue – can’t wait to get me some of that new baby smell.
well nothing like a full moon and a baby, right?
oh dear I managed to talk with trex on the air but wish I had been clever – did make him laugh I think.
the screener was very sweet – let me get by with newspaperbrat but insisted on knowing where I lived- wanted to know what town and I said I lived out in the country in Monterey county.
that’s what i was thinking, spidey – tuesday nite
npb – that is wonderful :) if you made him laugh, you were clever
You sounded really good NPB!
CT downstairs said he was on hold – was going to ask about NPSD-51, the secret presidential powers order that boosh recently did.
newspaperbrat @ 11
Crystal clear! Brava!
[resurfacing from snarkling]
Evenin’ kittehs and pups.
FDL representin’ tonight, yes?
(((best Lake on earth)))
Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I couldn’t listen to this guy 5 nights a week. He does love the sound of his own voice. He switches topics every other sentence. Where are his regular callers, if he has any? He doesn’t want to hear from FDLers; he only wants conservatives to call so he can talk over them and then cut them off.
Oh, C Tuttle is on! How come everyone from FDL has a great voice?
…if so, a Gemini with a Sagitarius moon, Mercury in Cancer, Venus in Cancer, Mars in Aries and Jupiter in Sagitarius maybe conjunct the moon which would mean a lot of blessings for this little baby. That’s at least two exalted planets
C-Tut on KIRO!
Wish I could have heard you, NPB.
sweet, spidey. i’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed for tuesday
Poor DJ don’t know what to do with educated callers
…oooh suzi, correct that teo to two, will ya please, am so wasted I better quit here.
mutzali @ 17
I think David is filling in for the regular person.
persiflage @ 18
Thanx, Trex ran with the ball, I think the most he said at once!!!
What did you talk about CTuttle? What did TRex say?
fixed it for ya, spidey.. travel will do that to the brain/finger connection
…all I can think of is key lime pie…thanks for the flix…I mean fix…off to slumber land, bye little puppies, don’t stay in the water too long, you’ll get wrinkled
Tuttle had better be typing up what was said (hands on hips)
Inquiring minds on dialup and/or macs wanna know since we can’t listen.
g’nite spidey, sleep well
Loo Hoo. @ 27
I asked if they had heard about the NPSD-51, and TRex nicely jumped in and illuminated the listeners on the basics, I am slightly inebriated, so I slurred a little but T was the man!!!
Well, that was fun. Better hit it.
Is the broadcast over?
CTuttle @ 32
Good for you! Hopefully T will give us a blow by blow tomorrow night.
CTuttle @ 32
This needs to be the TRex show. Goldstein didn’t know about NPSD-51, and when TRex dropped “Overton Window” on him, he bailed.
TRex mentions Overton Window,
(defn: the acceptable window of public discourse)
that radicals push the window in terms of
saying what needs to be said that others won’t
and how the Right has pushed this window
so far Right that they openly denounce
anyone who disagrees with them as being
guilty of treason
talking about 3rd party candidates.
dj: 3rd party candidates can only throw the election to somebody else.
Golly gee – thanks persiflage and newtonusr – just got my live radio link back and trex is doing great and handling the interruptions with aplomb and southern grace.
garth calling – heard you two liberals pulling back the curtains? –
guest – right wingers pushed to extreme far right
tr – I live in a college town with a woman in a car with a Hillary bumpersticker and this guy stared at her with such hatred I decided I may vote for her – laughter.
tr – laughing wildly and saying Chuck Hagel should have Joe Lieberman on his ticket.
dj – fillabusting again
Caller- says there is no difference between two parties…
tr – garth we have something in common cause we both hate all the candidates – laughing heartily.
more commericials……
Whooo-hooo!!
This is fun!
Suzanne @ 34
Not yet, talking about third party’s lack of viability and how third party candidates generally hurt Dem’s more!!! By-the-by, if you call, while you’re on hold, you can hear the broadcast!!!
TRex @ 40
Overton window… Nice.
TRex @ 40
Bravo, Theropod, Bravo!!!
Hey TRex,
Please comment on the
Dept of Homeland Security in Alabama &
the “single issue terrorists”
Sounds like our big fella is knocking ‘em outta the park.
CT – I can’t call – I’m online via dialup.
Suzanne @ 45
Sorry!!! :(
Thanks, CT – is why I am relying on ya’ll to fill me in.
I didn’t know TRex was announcer for NPR!!! DJ is definately a blabberer, nay, blatherer!!!
C’mon NPB, I hope you caught those e-mails he was reading!!!
That’s his day job, CT. He does classical music at the NPR station (looking through my bookmarks trying to find a link to his station)
Suzanne @ 50

The business of congress is business?
When that’s true -
the mistake is
one corporation one vote
It’s one person one vote
Hello????
tr: we need separation of corporations and state. gov’t being run for the benefit of corps, not people.
dj: gov’t must protect citizens from vagueries of market.
tr: corps don’t care about people.
dj: write to your politicians, outspend corps.
new caller
thanks, newtonusr, i had just found it
newtonusr @ 51
Kewl!!!
new caller: I like john edwards.
dj cuts her off.
dj – asking trex about his radio work -
trex – speak very soothingly on npr
dj – reading some text messages – shut up david why do you have a guest and then just blab away – they pay me to blab
“who the f is this guy – oh yeah – who cares.”
“even tho I don’t agree with you I will continue to listen to your show..”
dj admits he has a sick sense of humor —-
trex gets in several funny asides, quickly and expertly – like “what are ya gonna do?” in his most sardonic tone of voice.
dj now asking about John Kerry
trex says Kerry Who?
caller Kelly on – “i’m really upset about our congress
trex – a lot of us are
am going to propose something – we need to have a wall between people and government – you can’t get health care – somethings wrong here – this is where the right and the left really need to do…..
interrupted by dj again
trex ” capitalism out of control – they don’t care about you – their bottom line”
dj – saying if all of us who just send five bucks we’ll …..
new caller – likes John Edwards and would like to see al gore run
show over…I do so hope Trex reports.
mutzali @ 56
and it sounded like Trex approved the john edwards mention.
End of show, folks!!! I did like the closing, in that, a five dollar donation from the masses would squelch the Biz Pac’s influence over candidates!!!
newspaperbrat @ 58
tr:the one i dislike least
dj:spoken from a southerner
end
CTuttle @ 59
donation to ???
Just closed the KIRO window, the absence of the host’s voice and the constant ads is like music to my ears. And what uplifting ads, “could your family survive a catastrophe”, as if I needed more things to worry about.
Trex was gracious, witty and engaging but that announcer just wouldn’t shut up.
TribeScribe @ 61
To Dems/Liberals/progressives!!!
TRex should be along shortly – it usually takes him a few minutes to floss after dealing with trollish types
persiflage @ 62
The very reason I don’t listen to Talk Radio, NPR excepted!!!
He’s still talking, just to me now.
So TRex WAS on Goldstein’s KIRO slot or IS on KIRO?
persiflage @ 62
The “It’s my show” contention by Goldstein means that useful discourse goes out the window. Thanks Tweety and the rest. If you have guests, STFU and make good use of them.
newspaperbrat @ 57
completely agreed.
never understood why health care is tied to
employer & predicated on enslavement to one corporation 40/hrs a week.
talk about suppressing freedom of choices
talk about hamstringing freedom of movement
disconnecting this aberration of free market
should be a major campaign platform for anyone with half a brain (or more)
Ed*ard Teller @ 67
Was!!!
I think you just missed it ET :(
newtonusr @ 68
hear hear!
TRex @ 66
Did you catch the E-mail section, illuminate the Lake O’Theropod!!! Particularly, the blabber one!!!
TribeScribe @ 69
Healthcare is where the free-market doctrines of the right most visibly break down. It is THE issue on which the left can defeat St. Reagan once and for all.
I heard last week’s show after it had aired. It was OK. Actually, pretty good. How’d this one go? If Jeff’s still there, I like his show sometimes when I listen from up here in AK. Not enough to get me to miss Seattle much, though. Met him last summer at the Montlake Alehouse for DL. Hope to be there again this summer.
Okay, here I am.
Whew!
I’m wiped out.
That was fun, though.
Wigwam – yes – crystal clear
good lo’ it makes *no sense*
and what’s more, when they argue
about it, they show just how
monopoly-leaning they really are.
it’s vile and disgusting!
Why do pubs hate America?
Wigwam, TRex and I were able to shine a little light on the NPSD-51, it’s a start!!!
Trex, I will have to listen to your radio show online. I know it’s not talk radio, but I appreciate someone who’s well-spoken. I’m the daughter of a speech teacher, and nothing makes me more nuts than a professional public speaker whose speech is peppered with “Uh”, “Y’know” and “but, uh”. (hint: in the radio show I just heard, I don’t mean you.)
Goldstein sounded quite young and nervous and certainly knows who Trex is – though didn’t know he was on NPR and seemed awfully impressed as well he should.
Think he may be well intended but awfully chatty – may have been jacked up on coffee and/or sheer nervousness in the presence of the polished voice of TRex.
Where did that rascal go?
TRex, npb and others have done a great job in transcribing for those of us who could not call in nor get the listen live – ct, tribescribe, newstonusr and i’m sure i’ve missed some.
mutzali @ 79
That’s so funny. The thing I hated when I listened to playback of the first show was all the “like” and “You know” that kept spilling out of my mouth. I had a piece of paper in front of me this time that had the words LIKE and YOU KNOW with big X’s through them.
nice job TRex!
(and FDL callers!!!)
you do FDL proud!
You were great Trex, and it was really enjoyable to listen to your dulcet tones, especially your NPR voice, Rrrrroooooowwwwwww!!
Okay, gang. Juan Carlos is asserting his rights as BedCat. Mine is but to obey.
Good night!
Thanks for listening!
g’nite, TRex. I’m gonna head off pretty soon myself.
((((((((((TREX FOREVER!))))))))))
Trex, thanx for picking me up!!! The NPSD-51 seemed to have caught him by surprise, and the Overton window!!! *G*
G’nite, TRex and Suzanne!!! The Lake was roiling tonite!!! :O
Time for me to crawl out of the lake and head off to bed, folk. g’nite all and thanks again to all that transcribed tonights broadcast.
nite suzanne
dang, missed it…
I called to solicit opinions re: Sen Saxby Chambliss – could he be defeated in ‘08?
Seems I dialed the wrong number… my 3:45 phone call was NOT appreciated.
Hi all… Just thought I’d pop in and say hi.
Did you guys notice during the performance of Video Killed the Radio Star on the MTV Video awards, they substituted the words, “Internet Killed the Video Star”? I got a kick out of it.
Hey Nate – waving good nite to all you intrepid late niters. As always its been a delight.
You all are familiar with TGIF, how about its natural adjunct, OSIM? Oh Shit, Its Monday!!! *g*
Aloha Oe, Firepups!!! I’ll see ya on the flip side!!!
Completely o/t, but a plea for help: anyone know a good lawyer in NH, preferably in the Lancaster area? If so, I would greatly appreciate an email to ixnay AT adelphia DOT net. TIA.
(CNN) — Cindy Sheehan, the California mother who became an anti-war leader after her son was killed in Iraq, declared Monday she was walking away from the peace movement.
She said her son died “for nothing.”
Sheehan achieved national attention when she camped outside President Bush’s home in Crawford, Texas, throughout August 2005 to demand a meeting with the president over her son’s death.
While Bush ignored her, the vigil made her one of the most prominent figures among opponents of the war.
But in a Web diary posted to the liberal online community Daily Kos on Monday, Sheehan said she was exhausted by the personal, financial and emotional toll of the past two years.
She wrote that she is disillusioned by the failure of Democratic politicians to bring the unpopular war to an end and tired of a peace movement she said “often puts personal egos above peace and human life.”
Good morning, pups. The NYT today contains a fetid little pile by Bobo about Al Gore and his new book, and Bob Herbert writes on some of the ways the NYC police department is infuriating minority youth in my old home town.
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
Coffee and tea are ready, and the biscuits just came out of the oven. Enjoy, and have a good “official start of the summer season” day.
Morning. This might be a week where I get some work done. No hearings or sentencings. I hope to accomplish a lot to be in good shape for what next week brings.
Any word on when Monica might appear before the Senate? I think they’re going to slip her in like they did Comey. I hope c-span is prepared this time.
Bobo is his usual unctious self pontificating about Gore’s new book.
“Vulcan Utopia”??
Her’s a bit of the goo from Brooks
First he berates Gore for being pompous then goes on a pompous rant of his own trying to emulate the eloquence that Gore easily achieves and that Brooks scrambles for. He goes on to praise the role of fear in all of his lizard brain kin….(9/11, anyone? Anyone?)
What a wanker. He just can’t stand smart democrats because he has cast his lot with stupid authoritarian robots and then calls it “individual freedom”. What planet is Brooks from?
Good morning pups!
Mornin’ all!
Six more U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq
Gunmen kidnap 3 Westerners in Baghdad
Five Britons ’seized in Baghdad’
They included four bodyguards and a finance expert, earlier reported to be German.
twolf1 @ 106
And CNN is still talking about Rosie.
Has anyone seen this yet? I just saw it linked on HuffPo. Another top White House official, who just happens to be Rover Boy’s aide has resigned.
Another Top Bush Aide Makes an Exit
By Michael A. Fletcher
Monday, May 28, 2007; Page A15
As the Bush administration inches closer to its concluding months, more top aides are headed out to the private sector. Sara M. Taylor, the White House political director and microtargeting guru who has been with George W. Bush from the outset of his first presidential campaign, is the latest staff member to leave the president’s employ.
Taylor, 32, was one of the first people put on the payroll of the Bush campaign, trekking through snowy Washington to interview with Karl Rove and Bush, who was then governor of Texas. Taylor worked on the 2000 campaign, and later became a political aide in the White House.
Morning everyone. Fresh thread, up and ready for the reading for everyone.
