"The Sleaze Sisters dedicate this to Paulie Wolfowitz, and all the other dinosaurs that got kicked out of the baaaaaaand…"
(Times Square, slightly paraphrased.)
Gonzo's next.
Lyrics below the fold.
OH BONDAGE, UP YOURS!
Little girls
Should be seen and not heard
Oh Bondage, Up Yours!
One, Two, Three, Four
Bind me tie me
Chain me to the wall
I wanna be a slave
To you all
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Chain-store chain-smoke
I consume you all
Chain-gang chain-mail
I don't think at all
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Thrash me crash me
Beat me till I fall
I wanna be a victim
For you all
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Bind me tie me
Chain me to the wall
I wanna be a slave
To you all
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Bind me tie me
Chain me to the wall
I wanna be a slave
To you all
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more
Oh bondage up yours
Oh bondage no more

G’Bye Wolfie
ZEDediah!
Nice, TRex, very nice :)
Come on, everybody sing!
Oh, Wolfie,
UP YOURS!
Oh, Gonzo,
UP YOOOOOURS!!
See if you can pogo at the same time.
What a voice that little girl had.
Where do you find these delicious angst-filled lyrical screeds TRex? Good stuff.
I agree, Nate, TRex must have one hell of a bookmarks folder.
Nate @ 6
I was a teenager once.
It lasted about a week.
happy almost birthday, mutzali
I’d say “Goodnight Wolfie, you treacherous fool,” but it isn’t dark yet. Oh, wait. It won’t be dark here until about August 5, and Wolfowitz will have been out of work by then for 35 days.
Would impeaching Bush and Cheney help or hurt Democratic prospects in 2008? Pelosi would then be the incumbent president going into the 2008 elections, and the horrors of the Bush administration would be yesterday’s news.
Keeps running through my head:
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye
Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey-ey, goodbye
I’m old enough to remember singing it when Nixon got on the helicopter, and I can’t wait to sing it when Bush is gone.
NPB, Nate, you have mail.
Wigwam @ 11
I can already say that I would vote for her to be re-elected. I honestly like Nancy more than any of the Dem front-runners right now. Is that so wrong?
You guys told the last thread we were up here, right?
WaPo via DKos diary:
“What Did Bush Know, and When?“
I did TRex.
yep. So did Suzanne.
Hi, firepups. It’s been a really crappy day at work with damn near everyone around me driving me crazy.
The important thing is, I’m home now, warming some bread and artichoke dip, and here with all of you. There’s plenty to share, of course. :)
Did Delay really make an appearance on the Colbert Report? It hasn’t started yet on the west coast so I can still catch it.
I’m here, but I’m watching Chris Hitchens talking Falwell on H&C at C&L
I love Poly. I’m — old enough and — lucky enough to have seen her a coupla times ‘78-’80. But then — I’m a cliche’ – I’m a cliche’ -
Unfortunately the CD transfer suck, but it’s all you can get (non-collectible) days of X-Ray Specs. “Germ Free Adolescents” is a compilation of their singles and EPs and was originally released on LP.

PS — tRex, you’ll always be a teenager to your fans! What do I get?
I am here but also in 3 other places and getting ready for bed.

TexBetsy @ 13
I didn’t get it TB. Sure you got the addy right?
It’s my blog’s name at gmail dot com.
I freed it, Pun. Still can’t figure out why it is tripping on the filters.
Well, I’m way behind in reading the comments, so I got EPU’d again downstairs! Here’s what I wanted to call some attention to:
Al Gore has a new book out, “The Assault on Reason“. The link is to TruthOut, one of my favorite news sources that provides the best news stories from the conventional media. In addition to Al Gore writing about his new book, if you scroll down you’ll also find “The Last Temptation of Al Gore,” By Eric Pooley, a long piece looking at the whole “will Al run?” question, that puts Al’s new book in context.
This is a great introduction to his book because Al explores some of the themes we’ve been exploring here, deploring the lack of meaningful national discourse about critical issues, and looking at where to find it.
We know we can find it here, but we need to share. Each of us needs to become a purveyor of information– not just by spotlighting something and throwing in an “FYI” in the comment field, but by explaining why we think it’s important.
I have a friend who has put me on her distribution list for her “FYI’s”, and she probably forwards a dozen things to me a day. Or it seems like it. Can you guess? I transfer most of her stuff to a folder I keep for her forwards, mostly unread. Learning to be an effective “informant” these days is requires new and evolving skills.
I loves me some Al Gore, and would love some more!
Bob in HI
thanks again Suzanne
punaise @ 23
Very true. Sigh! Wish i could write like that.
Nate @ 24
yours is still in the SENDING mode. sorry. 26 mb file
DO NOT quote Punaise’s comment using the quote this comment button. There is something in it that trips the filters and your response will land in the spam filter for some reason.
Bob Schacht @ 26
Hi Bob, I replied to this comment downstairs and fired a couple of questions to you too.
TexBetsy @ 29
That’d do it! Kewl… I like big media files.
Nate, did you see the Repugs wouldn’t let Robert Greenwald show excerpts of ‘Iraq for Sale’ before Congress. LINK
geez, pun, only 2 of our 10 bill of rights left.
TRex @ 14
I agree 100%.
But my question was much broader. Once something is over, the American voters forget and move on very fast. For example, Desert Storm did nothing for Bush-41 at the polls 18 months later.
I believe that getting rid of Bush-43 would be a good thing for the country, but would it be a good thing or a bad thing for the Democrats in November 2008?
Time for me to get some sleep. Enjoy the rest of the night y’all.
pain free sleep wishes, tb.

G’nite TexB. Sweet dreams!
good night, TexBets
Aloha and sweet dreams Betsy. You’ve got mail in the morning. It has Lou’s email as well. Thanks for the audio file.
I’m not sure how much msm coverage this is getting, but I’ve been helping out today organizing an event scheduled nationally for this coming Saturday – Armed Forces Day. Thousands of buglers, some uniformed military musicians, others retired military musicians, high school students, Boy and Girl Scouts, and other volunteers, will be playing Echo Taps at National Cemeteries throughout the USA and overseas. The efforts are being co-sponsored by the VA and Bugles Across America (disclaimer – ET is a member of BAA, and I’ll be playing at the NC at Fort Richardson, in Anchorage).
Here’s a web site in Minnesota which explains the event fairly well.
If you’re interested in honoring our deceased Veterans and seeing some of the most diginified music of your life, you might call the National Cemetery nearest to where you live, and see if they have an Echo Taps event scheduled Saturday at that memorial place.

LaFourmiRouge @ 42
(snort) dayam, that is funny!
TRex, thx for tonite’s earlier post dealin’ w/ the dread MM. I’m dee-lighted to read that the NewsHour won’t be giving her any more air-time, but jeez, what was she doing there in the first place? I remember that segment – I didn’t even bother w/ ‘mute’, I just turned the sucka off.
I generally appreciate the NewsHour (they had extended video of Comey’s testimony t’other night), but sometimes they seem so clueless – lookit the # of times they’ve featured John Yoo -
Watching Delay on Colbert….He claims Terri Schaivo as a triumph??? Is he delusional?
OT: DeLay on Colbert: DeLay is truly not sure what is happening.
mutzali @ 47
We’re obviously in the same zone.
Hey, TRex: I bought a new car tonight!
This is a hoot to watch Delay not have a clue.
SteveAudio @ 48
Delay doesn’t get it! He truly thinks Colbert is an ally, on his side, and pulling for him. Hilarious!
Whatcha buy SteveA?
LaFourmiRouge @ 52
He mentioned watching the show the night before (probably an aide told him aobut it).
For such a supposedly smart guy, he truly comes across as a tool, which makes sense, because, well, you know…
Yes, I’m on the left coast,in San Jose (well, technically in the county, but the post office thinks I live in San Jose.) SO this isn’t late LATE night for me.

L.A. area, West coast rocks.
Ok, SteveA, that totally shattered my rock and roll fantasy.
I know, losing the BMW for a Focus, whattaya gonna do?
Still, it treated me really well for 12 years now.
Suzanne, when my son was at UCSC, I drove through your mountains about once a week. I have a couple of friends who live off Summit, and I’m always envious of anybody who lives up there.

Since things are slow around here, a Yetto story:
The music was great, the crowd huge. We found a spot near the sound tent and Marie’s date rolled a couple spliffs as we got caught up in the spectacle. We had been drinking since late afternoon. A path led from the main concert area back to the concession stands, and people filed past our group constantly. Yetto and Marion were across the path from us, watching the people and the big screen and having a good time when I saw Yetto lock eyes with a tall young man walking past with a group of buddies.
She’d been smiling and dancing and in that moment I recognized that he was attracted to her and had made a pass. She sneered at him as if to say “Go away!” He took offense, stepped toward her, reached out, and pushed her chest, hard. Yetto fell back about 2 meters, and caught herself. He towered over her – 6’2” easily, 180 lbs, and said something nasty. Yetto had blood in her eye, and drew up her 5’1”, 100 lb. frame to full, ferocious, fightin’ stature. Marion, tall and fair, looked on in dismay as the crowd parted to allow the two to go at it.
I had seen it all unfold, and pushed Marie forward into the fray because I knew she, a veteran of the Lyon resto-bistro scene, could best deal with it. She understood immediately and quickly shouldered the young man aside, grabbed Yetto, and brought her back into our group. Later, upon recounting the incident to the denizens of la Fourmi, I asked Yetto what the hell she was thinking when she stood up to a guy who nearly doubled her size. Eyeing me calmly she said simply “I know if I can one balls in each hand, I am be O.K.”
Suzanne @ 63
Well, part of it was that Pam & I both needed cars at the same time, so instead of buying a $34,000 car, we bought 2 $16,000 cars.
mutzali @ 58
I did. Ms. ET and I watched the interview. Colberrt showed DeLay more respect than I thought necessary, even to pull off Colbert’s schtick. Probably trying to set a nasty little trap for DeLay, which DeLay was too wily to walk across…
Ouch, SteveA, having to buy two cars at the same time hurts just thinking about it. Hopefully you got a great deal.

sweet deal, SteveA.

I thought so. The Beemer is sitting out front of the house, looking like a sleek, German planter.
Anyway, maybe I’ll plant a palm tree and let it grow out of the sunroof.

That’s because Wolfie really wanted to put it into IRAN!

We hear Wolfie is intervewing for Michele Bachmann’s Chief of Staff, God’s Chosen from Minnesota’s 6th. They meet in the middle of blowing up the Middle East. Who cares what you call it? Armeggedon Judgement Day, the Rapture! Amen?
I’m sorry about the planter. But it does look good!

It’s a direct quote. (Yetto speaks English just as well as I speak French)

I’d just re-read it and realized what you just said…What’s the Lyon resto bistro scene?
I was over at YouTube (searching for the original “Children of the Revolution,”) and look what I found!

Still awake. Back in the lake.
welcome back, tb. i’m about to fade myself pretty soon. still a buttload of friggin housework to do before the friggin open house sunday. (grumble grumble)
Suzanne @ 81
Where are you moving after the cottage sells?
Lyon is rife with small bar/restaurants (resto), many with live music (bistro). The really tiny ones are called “bouchons” which translates as “bottlecaps”, because a tradition has developed over the centuries to throw all the corks and beer-caps into a bucket just inside the front door.
Of course, some of the bistros are large, sophisticated operations, and Marie has successfully run several of these, the current venture being my favorite bar in the whole wide world – La Fourmi Rouge!
Looking at somewhere around the Oregon coast between Newport and Nehalem Bay. Maybe around Tillamook Bay.
Not sure, could also be southern WA. My HMO has facilities in Portland, Salem, and up in Longview, Wa. No big city for me tho.
Suzanne @ 84
I hear from a reliable source that the small coastal town of Otter Rock is lovely.
I’ve heard that too, SteveA. Drove through that area 2 years ago and really liked it. Otter Rock is just north of Newport iirc.
Suzanne @ 86
You realize that was the original home office for this blog, back in the day…
Never visited that area of the country. Was in SF for a week when I was 6. But I’ve heard that it’s beautiful out there.
Yep. On that trip, I tried to figure out which beach Poodle Beach was (to no avail) as I tooled down 101.
Suzanne @ 84
Have you checked out the area around Garibaldi, just north of Tilamook? When we’ve stayed in Manzanita, I’d take my son down to the docks in Garibaldi, looking for dungeness crab or fresh oysters. I love that place.
Suzanne @ 89
She described the walk there once to me, but not having been there, I had a hard time visualizing it.
Still, sounded pretty wonderful.
From the WaPo’s Al Kamen, who must be nearing retirement or begging for a buyout or something — he’s getting quite snarky about the Regime and its Enablers and Mistresses:
and, also:
Tis why it is included, ET. I can say that it will NOT be Lincoln City with all its cas*no traffic.
I’m gonna be looking for peaceful. In my dreams, I’m going to find another little cabin on a creek in the redwoods that is hidden away yet close enough to civilization that I don’t feel isolated.

Does the washington post come with a barf bag?
I’ve been listening to the stream of Randi Rhodes explaining the hospital encounter as described by Comey. WOW!!! I’ve been too busy to dissect this, but she nails it.
geez, I must be tired. I just had to free my own comment because I used a bad word. egad.
Ed*ard Teller @ 95
I heard that in real time earlier today. She does have a way with words, does Randi.
Suzanne @ 96
I’m moderating HuffPo comments even as we speak.
SteveAudio @ 97
Time to moderate my sleep cycle. See ya tomorrow.
That can be a tough crowd, SteveA.
TexBetsy @ 99
Me too, night all.
Suzanne @ 100
You should see the stuff that doesn’t pass the moderators. Some pretty scatalogical stuff.
g’nite, tb and sa. sleep well.
SteveAudio @ 87
Sausalito I thought…
Does the WaPo mention that there is still a Mrs. Wolfowitz, and it’s not Riza? I wonder she thinks all marriages are “asexual” because she thinks they’re “dating” on the side. I guess I blame Clinton.
Bil, I believe that was during the editing of Marcy’s book – all done in Sausalito. Jane was temporarily staying in Marin County during that time.
Riza as victim, that’s a hoot. Thanks for all the Oregon coast info, I’m thinking of a trip out that way later this year.
Mutzali, of course there is no mention of the fact that Wolfie is cheating on his wife. He is a Republican.
mutzali @ 105
Kamen’s column earlier this week was about his readers who’ve written in to ask why the Post calls Riza Wolfie’s girlfriend when she is more properly labelled his mistress, since he’s still married. Seriously, Kamen is way off the neocon reservation.
G’nite all! I’m working a gubbament tech show in the capitol of Cali tomorrow. Can’t wait to get home and spend an hour, powering my way through the Friday news dump and then spending the evening listening to all my favorite my minds hash it out here at the Lake (and various other assorted blogs)
Aloha!
mutzali @ 105
Suzanne @ 106
Thanks Suzanne. I always thought it was SO cool that Jane was here somewhere, whether it was a Sausalito PO, MV or further North, my more active lurking dayze.
I just had an exhausting and wonderful time at a Dick Dale concert with my 2 sons. Too revved up to sleep yet!
g’nite, nate.
tsf, i have yet to see the words adulterer applied to wolfie in tradmed. yet, isn’t that just what he is doing?
Times Square! Times Square! OMG! OMG! I loved that movie! Black my eyes and call me Nicky!
If anyone in the DC area wants to see what a real, live war criminal looks like, you’ll get your chance on June 26. The Federalist Society is sponsoring one of their inimitable group-gropes, this one ostensibly a tribute to Bork, at the Mayflower Hotel. One of the featured speakers is Boalt Hall’s very own torture facilitator, John Yoo.
That’s it for me tonight, folks. My eyes are in need of immediate inner eyelid inspection. G’nite all.
Good night, all. Gotta go to work in about 7 hours.
Watching the important part of Comey’s testimony for the first time.
On the Butterfield scale, this is a 9.5, pups.
Hi all! Delighted to find myself here in real time.
Steve, my beloved old 320i is in intensive care and not a good time to replace with anything I’d care to have. Fear it’s major compromise time.
Just finished reading a scary (oldish) CounterPunch article analyzing Cheney’s investment portfolio (drawn from a Kiplinger article based on his public disclosures). Puts paid to any notion of incompetence/they know not what they do.
Don’t know how to post a link, but it’s

“Gonzo’s possible upcoming replacement. Ted Olson.”
That’s my fear. I noticed Comey’s unsolicited praise of Ted.
tw3k, thanks for the link. If I spend enough time on live threads, maybe I’ll master posting skills. Any chance I’ve missed a FAQ?
Sunny Nobility @ 125
no problem, interesting link, thx.
you “should” just be able to click the “LINK” button above the comment field. If that doesn’t work try html.
Liked that dress, was it made out of duck tape?
that or a small sleeping bag :)
If you’re still here, Steve Audio, I want to thank you again for being so kind and considerate to this Luddite many months ago. I was having trouble with something technical (and now I forget what it was), but you were so caring and helpful that I remembered, after seeing your name here again tonight.
Thank you. You’re a mensch.
Good Morning, Firepups!
It’s cool and cloudy in central Jersey, with rain on the way for the next two days. My sister and I had a great visit with Mom in South Carolina for Mother’s Day. Mom’s garden looks much better [we filled 5 big trash bags with garden waste], and I have only a few patches of poison ivy rash [yes I wore gauntlet gloves, but I had on shorts and a t-shirt, since the temperature was in the 80s].
I’ve made a big pot of coffee, and I’ve got a big bag o’ bagels [hurrah for good bagels!]. Help yourselves.
I kind of like the sound but the lyrics and dance gyrations are disturbing.
TexBetsy at 93: The Washington Post is a barf bag.
Good morning, pups. Running late today… It’s Bobo and Krugman in the NYT today.
http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/
Coffee and tea are up, and English muffins. I’ve got to dash…
Watching David Gregory. Mary Matlin on praising Wolfowitz, Cheney, Libby and the repub candidates for pres. Totally unchallenged by Gregory. Totally.
Imus would not have let it stand.
I love the smell of the WaPo op-ed page in the morning.
It smells like Vicky T. [in drag.]

Yeah I heard that. Jeebus. I believe her exact words were “my hero’s in life are George W. Gush, Dick Cheney and Scooter Libby”.
And Wolfowitz was canned for being an unparalelled corruption fighter, with the purity of the dalai lama, which angered the Europeans, who are obviously only worried about themselves.
And that our children, or our children’s children, will look back at the GWB administration and say “oh thank god he was there then!”
And then came Tony Snow…
I can’t decide whether, by just having listened to all that, I simply have a strong stomach, or a bit of a masochistic streak.
….And gregory sat there and said nothing.
mornin’ all
cbl @ 137
good morning
Did anyone watch Steve Colbert last night. Tom Delay was on. Very freaking funny. Don’t these criminals know what Colbert does?

Their ability to lie and/or spout bullsh*t with a straight face is the most amazing thing to me.
If there is any justice in this world, all 3 of Matlin’s “heroes” will be behind bars soon.
That is simply nonsense, and Gregory should be ashamed for not addressing it.
Not to beat a dead horse, but, Imus would have challenged her. He did several times. They’d argue on air. Was a pleasure to watch.
One last thing, then must get ready for work. Bought a t-shirt last night from the Edwards campaign. Front says ‘Support the Troops’. Back says ‘End the War’. Not a t-shirt person myself, but bought it for my kids. $20 donation and you get tshirt and bumper sticker. Or, you could bumper sticker free. Looking forward to seeing people wear them.
Again @ 132
Oh dear, you beat me to it.
Here’s instructions for making that barf bag out of the WaPo. (Use it for organics recycling, too.)
ya know, when Imus was canned, I kinda felt sorry for the fat little sports guy that Imus *always* made fun of (forgetting about the radio portion of the whole deal – so he still has a job).
As I’m watching Imus-for-a-Day, I’m noticing that the fat sports guy is a bit of an asshole too.
solai @ 142
Very good point. Imus flogged her pretty good the last time I saw her on his show.
I gave up on Imus over two years ago for the same reasons he eventually got fired, but with the advent of Crook and Liars and YouTube some of his best interviews could still be seen without suffering through the rest of his show.
new thread upstairs
Rayne @ 143
excellent!
In Stephen Greens article “Serving Two Flags,Neocons, Israel and the Bush Administration” http://www.wrmea.com/archives/…..05020.html
Green reports that in 1978 Wolfowitz was investigated for providing to an Israeli government official, through an AIPAC intermediary, a classified document on the proposed sale of U.S. weapons to an Arab government. An inquiry was launched and dropped, however, and Wolfowitz continued to work at ACDA until 1980.
Most recently Wolfowitz made sure that Riza was issued a national security clearance to a foreign national.
Will congress launch an investigation of this?
