So it’s not enough to terrorize Iraq; now we turn our terror on Iran, too, again for no good reason. And the American people don’t wonder why we have such an awful reputation in the rest of the world? Is there any clearer evidence that our Commander Guy is insane? The American people don’t want the war in Iraq, either. Can’t Congress stop this man before he begins the implosion of the entire world?

Lou Costello @ 123

Dover Bitch @ 100

Much to my disdain, it went largely unnoticed when the Guardian reported that Bush tried to use military force in Iran already… when the British sailors were captured. Tony Blair rejected the offer.

I would like to know why Tony Blair has more say in whether we go to war with Iran than Congress or the American people.

I haven’t heard squat about it from anybody in Congress.

Remember the neocon chickenhawks screaming that they…“couldn’t believe the 15 British sailors didn’t fight back?”
I wonder why??? Could it have been a little wrinkle in the plan to attack? False-flag operation gone bad!

Lilly white assed, yellow bellied drowning in the Iraqi peoples blood “cakewalk in Iraq” crazies!

They moved to the “Iran has a nuclear weapons program” spin immediately after the invasion of Iraq. Most MSMers (not Chris Matthews) have let them repeat the unsubstantiated claims about Iran endlessly and unchallenged. Deja Vu! Deja Vu!

Ted Koppel’s OpEd seems unlike him in his prime. He was ordinarily more contextual and nuanced. He was one of this administration’s early critics, managing to get that across despite the watchful eyes of ABC’s editors and owners. Perhaps it’s age and the sun of Sanibel that has changed his perspective. I was in China when his daughter covered it as a young journalist; she’s made of entirely different stuff than dad.

Ted Koppel (Latest senior news analyst at NPR) . Former employees at NPR have claimed and gone to court over NPR’s “pervasive cronyism” when it comes to who climbs the ladder at NPR and gets the upper level spots. There was a study done of NPR about the “alleged” cronyism and the results were never released.

Notice how Ted Koppel has used his new position at NPR to push for aggressive and military action in Iran. You can go to NPR’s archives and have a listen to Ted Koppel.

WTF……..that Leahy’s office didn’t want the docs from Palast! Just how totally stupid are these people? And PTL that Conyers will have his hands on them. Here’s hoping that, out of 500, there are some nicely rotten eggs in the batch.

I dunno. How stupid indeed. Ewwww. Do you smell that rotten egg scent? Well, I’ve got several more 800 numbers….thanks to the commenter above who provided several more. Tomorrow is a new day, and, make no mistake, I’ll be calling. Lahey, Feinstein, Schumer and Whitehouse! Thanks all.

Iran — look at the terrain! Mountains the whole way around the border…with few passes that are easily guarded. No one in their right mind would try a ground invasion.

I’ve got an uneasy feeling that rather than Iran going nuclear, the Idiot-in-Chief wants to use “the football.”

That mushroom-cloud you may see in the skies over Iran will be because W aka “Little Boots” got his wish.

I lived in Iran in the 70s. The terrain is just as you describe–and is traversed by very narrow primitive roads (for the most part). There is no way a ground force could ever control that place.

They want to get Iran because they want to read the riot act to the radical Shai in Iraq, who haven’t played along with all their scheming like nice grateful little children. Iran’s cussed independence sets a bad example.

We must’ve been there about the same time. I was mainly down in Khuzistan most of the time. Where were you?

Ted Koppel’s OpEd seems unlike him in his prime. He was ordinarily more contextual and nuanced. He was one of this administration’s early critics, managing to get that across despite the watchful eyes of ABC’s editors and owners. Perhaps it’s age and the sun of Sanibel that has changed his perspective. I was in China when his daughter covered it as a young journalist; she’s made of entirely different stuff than dad.
