Hey, them’s my boys! Johnson and Hinderacker, at least, are pompous local (MN) gasbags, with Mirenghoff chiming in from DC. They have many ugly traits in common, including having all gone to Dartmouth, but so did my husband (before their time) so I can’t tar them with that brush. The Powerlineblog.com was named Blog of the Year by Time a few years back for their success in bringing down Dan Rather and that seemed to shellac them with an inpenetrable smugness. Because we are so not like them, we named our blog the Clothesline (clotheslineblog.com) — no power, but at least our linen’s clean.
Anyway, glad to see they know how to pick such winners. And speaking of Rummy, anyone know Mary Oliver’s poem, Percy (two)? I’m about to hang it on the Clothesline.

HEY! I was always picked last for dodgeball, but no fucking way would I ever support rummy. JFK was running for president at the time and he was my man!

I know I’m not one y’all FDL “cool kidz” of the left, but I’m still on the left so how about laying off the not so popular (in grade school!) Sheesh.

I don’t live in Orange County anymore but that is a hardcore Republican area there, an enclave, surrounded by a sea of blue.

I like having a deadline as it were. People have 6 full months to prepare to protest and demonstrate at that event, all legal and with papers filed by the city.

I’m just going to guess the asteroid is for the Island Hotel on November 17, 2007. According to Pat Robertson, God doesn’t do techtonic plates. Pat didn’t say anything about asteroids, so it might be possible.

(One of the things I’m interested in hearing about at the upcoming book salon is the actual use of the term “fascist” and whether it’s even possible to call the thing by the name that traditionally defines it.)
