Yeah, I saw that too, and had the pretty much the same reaction.

I didn’t have my chicken-wire barrier in front of the teevee either (I normally take that down after Sunday mornings). As luck would have it, there was nothing close at hand to throw at the teevee, so it survived.

Dobbs calls himself an “advocacy journalist,” so that makes it OK for him to have opinions. I guess Faux News is the epicenter of advocacy journalism.

I think this is the same interview where Stahl caught him in a flat-out error (reporting 7,000 in 3 years instead of 30 years), and he said that if it was on his show, it was fact, with a straight face! He was serious! As if he, Lou Dobbs, gets to decide what is fact and what isn’t fact. What an arrogant SOB.

Thanks for the information. I found that he lost by less than 10,000 votes with a total of 300,000 votes cast. Looks like a Libertarian was able to garnish 5% of the vote.

I also noted from Charlie Browns website that he has outraised Doolittle by 200K in the first quarter. Hopefully, that seat will turn blue!

What do you expect when you have rightwing Bushite corporations “counting” all the votes with ‘TRADE SECRET,’ PROPRIETARY programming code in all the voting machines and central tabulators, with virtually no audit/recount controls? Easy enough to ‘distribute’ votes to minor candidates. I think they did it in the Recall election (with 125 candidates on the ballot). And I think that’s why the forces of darkness ran Dem Ca Sec of State Kevin Shelly out of office. He had sued Diebold, decertified their touchscreens and demanded to see their source code, midpoint between the Recall and the 2004 election. (–false corruption charges against Shelley, total Rovian type scene, ’swiftboating’). Schwarz then appointed Diebold shill (and Repub) Bruce McCormack as Sec of State, who illegally RE-certified Diebold touchscreens, made the lawsuit go away, and began to undo all of Shelley’s reforms. This was the situation in which Doolittle was ‘elected’ by only 10,000 votes.

(Note: Calif now has a good Sec of State again–Debra Bowen, one of the miracles of the ‘06 elections (the people outvoting the machines?) (–the Prog Dems were hot to get McPherson out and Bowen in; grass roots movement), but she has her hands full with highly corrupt county election officials resisting reform, and she has to use a slow, “good government,” bureaucratic method of reform. No one dare challenge Diebold with a lawsuit again, demanding to see their source code. In FL-13, the judge ruled that ES&S (brethren of Diebold) has ‘trade secret’ rights over our election results that trump the right of the voters to know how their votes were counted. As long as this remains the case–and Dems seem of no mind to challenge it–we cannot trust the results of ANY election in this country–except perhaps New York whose old, reliable and virtually unriggable lever voting machines are hanging on by a thread, under a full scale Bushite/Diebold-ES&S assault.)

IRT the DOJ’s okaying Monica’s testiomony: Why are they doing it? Is there a trap that I can’t see? I will never believe that they’re playing it straight.

NO scenario where the DoJ can

it is not national security.

and if there is nothing to hide,
her testimony should make that
absolutely plain. the DoJ KNEW
a district court judge in DC would
say almost exactly these same words.
