I’ve been trying to tell Chris he sucks for years.
This was a major coordinate for Fritz Mondale in 84? No wonder he lost.
I expect to see Donna Brazile hosting on MSNBC in a few years.

Commander guy stopped terrorist attacks on US cities. What did Clinton do? Storm a compound in Waco and send a little boy back to live in the socialist paradise that is Cuba, after his mother died trying to escape. Sent in federal SWAT to Blow the brains out of Randy Weaver’s wife and baby.Bite his lip and squeeze out a fake tear as embassy’s, Navy ships, and civilian air planes were blown up by Osama and his buddies.

hackworth @ 61

Thanks for the heads up. He had me fooled by the fundy speak. He sure talks like a fundy. So he found the money.

Well, you weren’t entirely wrong, Brownback was an evangelical, I believe, before he converted. And he seems to deliberately muddy the waters by dropping the lingo of both camps.
No doubt he figures he’s building bridges or whatever — or hell, he’s got two hands, he might as well pick two pockets at the same time.
Obviously there are more than a few marginal (in terms of money, viability, and rhetoric) wingnuts in this group aside from Brownback. Tancredo and Hunter are sidesplittingly goofy, more so that they bother to stay in. They’re comically bad on an Alan Keyes level.
But Brownback strikes me as one of those guys who might just hang around long enough to make the eventual nominee look moderate, thus legitimizing unsuitable thugs like Giuliani or McCain.
As far as I can tell, only Romney strikes me as not completely dangerous in terms of policy and rhetoric (though he is clearly in over his head). Huckabee seemed like a decent enough egg on The Daily Show a few weeks back, but he doesn’t separate his pro-life beliefs enough from what his policy would be on issues of choice.
And while I understand that Huckabee is an ordained minister, it’s hard to get around the “I don’t believe in evolution” part. I don’t want to be an intellectual thug, but I also don’t want someone who doesn’t believe in gravity to run the country either (too late for that, I guess).

OT
With Sarkozy in France
Merkel in Germany and
Blair/Gordon Brown in UK
and “W”art in Washington
an’ Putkin in Moscow
it is starting to look like
a worldwide neoCon convention

Don’t forget John Howard in Australia and Harper in Canada. Getting scary, no?

I have a different take.

Gordon Brown will keep Bush at arms length.

Ratty Howard in Australia is up for the fight of his life this time around.

Harper’s party has plunged to the same level as the oppo liberal party.

If anyone thinks that France is suddenly going to start dancing to Bush’s jig because Sarko mouthed some campaign platitudes, think again.

Putin is rekindling the old days of an adversarial relationship with the US.

Merkel may still stop by and meet with Chimpy but she’ll stay at arms length too…just to avoid another unwanted neckrub.

you want snarkalishus but really really trye even though its’s snarka;oshus?

newt actually gets it right

no, really, he really does, not kidding

GINGRICH: Well, President Bush is not the future. He’s not a solution. He doesn’t solve Social Security. He doesn’t solve Medicare. He doesn’t solve the economy. He doesn’t solve the environment. He doesn’t solve education. He’s a current fact.

It would be like saying that if the Democrats decided to run on the grounds that they can be as effective as Senator Reid is in the Senate. Well, then you’d never elect somebody. The Senate is an impossible place to be effective, and it’s designed not to be effective.

The Democrats have got — have an easier job, because all they have to do is say, not this. That’s exactly what the 2006 campaign was: Not this.

The Republicans have a harder job. The Republicans have to say, this is not what we want to debate. It’s not in Baghdad, it’s not in Katrina, it’s not at Walter Reed, it’s not with the U.S. attorneys, but I have a better plan for a better solution that fits your values more than a Senator Clinton or a Senator Edwards or a Senator Obama.

SCHIEFFER: Or what you seem to be saying, or President Bush.

GINGRICH: Well, I think that’s clear
