While we in the US enjoy their smiles and graciousness in light of the negative nastiness of some like those Alabama fools, their Mexican government is continuing to keep them back by not providing social programs that would help that beautiful country’s people. They would rather be in their nation than in the US if only there were opportunities to work and provide for their families. But I digress.

Did you all see that one of the injured in the L.A. demonstration was a Fox News Reporter. Hit with a baton, I believe.

Fox Noise is ignoring it. I’m just surprised that they’re not blaming one of the demonstrators.

Lou Dobbs, in a fit of media solidarity, will no doubt do it for them.

There were also several Telemundo reporters beaten…and the President of Telemundo is a BIG Bush Pioneer!

DrDick- I was thinking that too about GOP ethics. But, it’s also a matter of “authority” in the classroom, if you know what I mean. My students like me, but they know I am not a patsy. My newbie co-teacher has a lot to learn. However, cheating has become a huge problem on my campus. Cultural? GOP? I don’t know.

I know that the attitudes and expectations of my students are a lot different than they were when I was in college. They seem more interested in getting a credential and less in actually learning anything. Students think nothing about arriving late or leaving early (in my day there were professors who actually locked the doors during lectures). It is not so bad in my upper division courses, but it used to drive me nuts in my introductory courses. I finally just gave up on it.

Locking doors is a bit unfair when even when you GIVE yourself enough time to get there? The urban student parking lot is hard to even get into. With no other options but to wait so you can even park your car. I was pissed off at one of my music Profs for doing that. I can understand the dedication and discipline of it.

I was in choir for years before college, but ye gods. It’s crazy trying to get around traffic and having leave almost 2 hours early to beat said traffic for a one hour course that i managed to get locked out of several times anyway because i just could not get parked and run to class in time! That’s not dedication–that’s insanity.

I was thinking back to HS. In retrospect, knowing what I know now, I may have been guilty of plagiarism in once reworking some paragraphs from a library book, about the history of railroads in the US. But, I was so confused about the detailed language, that I had to use a lot of the phrases. It was innocent at the time.

The problem with the Bushies, is that when they are found out, they have no shame. Lying comes easy, when they are found out.

As much as I like the Macaulay quote, there is another dimension to BushCo. et al- so, I would add, the measure of a man’s real character is what he would do “when” he is “found out”, if you see what I mean.
