Ambassadors from Iran and the United States met Friday on the sidelines of an Iraq summit, Iraq’s foreign minister said.

He said the meeting did not include Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice or Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki. It was the second such meeting, at a lower than foreign minister level, since March 10.

I bet with teenagers in the house, you’re hipper than you realize. Since advertising has started to drive so much of our culture, you pick up a lot of things by osmosis, almost against your will.

Man, if I could write one piece of legislation, it would be that public space would be scrubbed entirely of advertising. No more billboards. No more sides of buildings used for signs. Commercial space, sure, you can do whatever you want, but I would just like to wipe the landscape clean of CORPORATE LOGOS. I mean, GOD DAMN. How much more visual noise are we expected to tolerate?

I TOTALLY agree. I am an observant person by nature (unflinchingly curious person with a penchant for visually-oriented OCD= graphic design person…) and so I’ve had to stop with the television. When I do turn it on, I almost always mute the commercials. The Corpratists have obviously (for a second, third or fourth time…Industrial revolution/Gilded Age) gotten the one up on laws that are on the books and were enabled by a crony-lap-dog-Congress. Rahm (that tool) did say Tamany Hall had nothing on this administration. Well, we’ve got to fix this. Our children are being turned into a bunch of ADD-addled sheep.

To the Army’s 1st Information Operations Command, the “media” is just another threat — along with “al Qaeda,” “hackers,” and “drug cartels.” Military bloggers are even lower than that: just poor saps looking for a “therapeutic” way to get out their feelings.
