We do a Cole Porter show here in Peru, Indiana each year for his birthday. His birthplace is being opened this year as a bed and breakfast on June 8th.

The show this year is called “Cup O’ Cole” and takes place during an episode of a morning show like “The Today Show.” The weather forecast? “Too Darn Hot.”

More information than anyone cares about on an old thread, but I thought I’d toss it in.

What’s happening in the scene is that for reasons best known to Jack Cummings, Kiss Me Kate is framed as a movie audition in which the “Too Darn Hot” number — as performed by the great Ann Miller is being performed for someone identified as “Cole Porter” who neither looks or acts anything like the real Cole Porter.

Fosse did his own choreogrphy in the segment of the “From This Moment On” number he dances with carol Haney. ALL of Fosse can be seen in this number in embryonic form.

Kiss Me Kate was originally released in 3-D.

By the way, the blonde woman on the couch in the clip is the ex-wife of the man to her right – he’s the boyfriend of the woman in red in the clip.

The musical was also revived on Broadway not too long ago, and here is the musical’s version (not the movie version) of It’s Too Darn Hot from the Tony Awards:

Hey, lhp, thanks for the explanation. I don’t know much about rugby, but did get hooked on the All Blacks when down in NZ. Richie McCoy? Daniel Carter? Very much worth watching.

Then I come back to find out that, even with the Sports Channel, I can’t see the World Cup here in KS? This won’t do.

A quick Google search is likely to find you some pay-per-view streaming video. I was able to watch last year’s Ashes and this year’s cricket World Cup on a site called willow.tv. My beef with willow.tv is that it only works on real Wintel machines — I have XP installed on my MacBook Pro using Boot Camp, and while it will connect, the video comes through with all of the colors reversed, like looking at the color film negatives. Unwatchable.
