However, if someone (an Abramoff type character, for example) enticed any of these people into participating in this behavior and was able to hold it over politicians so that they would rubber-stamp policy, that ends up being a life and death situation for troops who were sent to war based on lies, 655,000 civilians killed in Iraq, and innocent people being tortured, and all the families that those events impact. That is just part of the ultimate fallout that may be involved in this scandal.
