Broder has been presiding over a DC press establishment that has long ago distanced itself from the public interest. Broder et al live in a bubble, no less protective than the one W inhabits. That they get called out on a regular basis by the left (unheard of in times past) is as shocking to them as it is novel. In his his latest rant aginst Reid, Broder is inhabiting the space of the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity. That he continues to insist that his lies are true is compelling evidence that he is becoming a mouthpiece for an increasingly irrelevant agenda.

That this man is admired by the DC press tells you all you need to know about how broken our beltway media is.

He represents a “target-rich” environment, however, when it comes to blogswarms like the one he experienced last week.

When will these people realize that they are dealing with the American people, not some fringe lefty group? They literally boggle the mind.

Multiple choice question:

David Broder sleeps with
A. Richard Nixon’s skeleton
B. Richard Nixon’s framed photograph
C. 18 minutes of loose tape swirling around his head in a feverish nightmare of helicopters in Saigon

I KNOW WHY BRODER WENT AFTER REID.

Broder was planning to showcase his very own Cronkite Moment in a week or two. Maybe he was going to call it “The War Is Lost.”

Then Reid stole his thunder.

Broder should have retired a few years ago. He could have gone out with warm feelings and genuine accolades all around for his long and illustrious career. Now he’s just an embarrassment.

the main problem is, none of these MSM guy/gals can just passively accept the latest WH pap because no one working in DC has any credibility, so writing anything is a huge crapshoot when you realize you actually have to stand by what you have pundit-ated, opined upon, you know what i mean.

pretty soon, the only story they WILL be certain of is that bloggers have made punditry interesting again.

now instead of the “dean” and everyone else, we have everyone else. must be very jarring for them, have some patience. they’ll find an issue anchor in some sex story, whether gay or with prostitutes or more baby daddy questions.

What exactly does it mean to say, “I’m not a fan of the blogs”. The “blogs” aren’t like sports or bird watching or something that you just don’t much care about or pay attention to. The “blogs” are multifaceted, of course. But more than that they are - in this day and age - a substantial source of news and opinion. For Broder to say that he is not a fan of the blogs is the same as any reporter/journalist saying that he doesn’t read the news, he/she just reports it. No wonder he is in such caveman territory…and no wonder that he constantly proves that to be the case.

The truth is probably that Broder doesn’t have the faintest idea what should be done about Iraq. He’s figured out that we aren’t going to experience anything that looks like winning- but he can’t allow himself to imagine anything that looks like losing. He doesn’t have a clue- and neither does most of the country.

I never listen to Hannity- or Limbaugh- or any of the pretenders. They aren’t worth the time.

I DO read Broder. Sometimes I agree with him- often I don’t.
