RE: Priorities for investigations:
I nominate the faked voter fraud (at least one of the bases of Iglasias’ removal and all the state measures to disenfranchise voters - poor, black, elderly, etc. orchestrated by Rove; 2008 is very near. Arizona and Texas have recently passed legislation to restrict voting rights.

Mandrake @ 106 –

That’s 21 Rs hoping to hang on to their golden geese in ‘08, per CQ Politics.

We really ought to figure out a way to scare them out of Bush’s bed — figuratively speaking, natch ;). MoveOn’s effort is a start.

Dang, what’s wrong with these people? Are they really this out of touch with reality? What am I saying?

EPU’d, I guess. Let’s take it up later — a fun parlor game, at the least.

Sadly, I must return to my day job. Very sad. Not nearly as fun as the lake.

ah yes, but Selise caught an even more important word: “goal.” seems this word tends to soften the effect of “shall.”

I like the word “gaol” for these criminals. [that’s jail]

“~}

Let’s make that list of patriotic republican senators! (OR DESPERATE ONES — WHICH EVER COMES FIRST!)

(Sorry Christy - I had the full sentence but edited it to make the point that Cheney could be vulnerable to a republican putsch.

Socksgate….ROFL…I remember that one. I think it tied on my top list of top ten scandals that never were with Travelgate. BTW, am I the only one sick of (but can’t think of another way) calling every scandal that comes out of a presidency “something”-gate.

Something I don’t understand is whenever these Republican Congressmen get up and start bellowing about how the Democrats are inserting political purposes in the oversight process, why don’t we respond and just say look-what-you-did-to-Clinton?

My only conclusion is that we are trying to get above the image of using congressional oversight authority for partisan witchhunts, ala the Republican party from 1994 through 2000. By appearing to rise above petty infighting that is the hallmark of the Republican party, the Democrats can appear to be the more potent force of truth and justice.

The only drawback to that is that I don’t expect the Republicans to change, and should they return to power, I doubt they will afford a Democratic president the same leeway we have been affording Bush.
