The topic of toxins/environment is important to me, and for my children. The Kerrys and like-minded people are the ones to have in your lifeboat. Interacting this way with current law makers is pretty remarkable.

Yes, katymine@38! I have the same concerns. I’m going to be reading much more on phthalate. I was unaware of this. I’ve been concentrating on eliminating all foods that are not hormone/antibiotic free and this has made a huge difference in my life. I had menopause surgically induced 5 years ago and since then use only minuscule dose of human bioidentical hormone from natural sources.

My concern is not only the toxins that produce cancer, but I’m wondering if all these toxins and hormones in everything are a major contributing factor to the obesity problem. There’s a lot of frustrated folks out there over this issue and I’m convinced eating the hormone injected meat/poultry plays a role in this. Add this estrogen variable in there and well….. I wonder is anyone looking into this?

I live in northern Arizona, clear blue skies, clean air….. well, mostly. The forest health projects, prescribed burning and burning of cleared “slash piles”, work to restore health and protect communities against catastrophic fire events. The problem lies with living, and breathing, in an environment that is almost constantly filled with thick wood smoke. Like surviving a forest fire several times a month, usually when it is perfect outdoor weather. Isn’t there some other way to recycle the cleared “slash piles” than burning them….. constantly? This is an ongoing project, and it is important, however, it produces serious health problems for an entire community for much of the year. Who knows what the long term effects will be to the environment and to the people in the community.

I know that I am EPU’d here but I still wanted to say FDL thank you. These book salons have been fantastic. I missed out but still enjoyed reading it. Senator Kerry was so warm and he seemed to enjoy it here at the lake. I hope he comes back again. Thanks for all the great questions from the pups.
