(Graphics love to Oliver Willis.  Perfect.)

Bill O'Reilly went on a bit of a nutter last night.  C&L has the clip from the show.  According to Falafel Boy, MoveOn.org and George Soros control the universe, and we are all just cogs in the Soros zombie universe.  Why, if we hadn't been taken over by some liberal money man, none of us would ever have a critical thought in our own pretty, little heads about Republicans or the failures of George Bush or anything.  (Oh, dammit, I said "failures of George Bush" again.  That George Soros sure has some powerful mind control.)

Of course, O'Reilly is just following in the substantial Limbaugh wake — and Melanie Morgan…and the full of Hot Air crew…and…Clearly the Wingnut Wurlitzer has ramped up on Media Matters and MoveOn.org lately.  Funny how they all seem to be talking about it at the same time, isn't it?  (I blame Eric Boehlert and his ongoing smackdown of fact free wingnut invective, frankly.)

Oliver Willis has the rundown on the whole nutter of an O'Reilly meltdown, and I am still laughing from the read.  And as if that weren't enough laughter at O'Reilly's expense, TBogg weighs in…bwahahahahaha.  Because, as we all know, having critical thoughts about Republicans means that we are controlled by George Soros.  Or…um…not.

Which is even more amusing because Tom Matzzie of MoveOn.org will be here at 1:00 pm ET/10:00 am PT to chat with all of us — there is a great grassroots campaign being waged to get Republicans on the record whether they will represent the will of their constituents, or George Bush, in a number of swing states and districts across the country.  It is a fantastic idea — one that we should have all been pushing ages ago — and I'm so happy that we can help with it today and in the days ahead.  Because, as you guys know, the folks in Washington work for us, not the other way around — and they are about to find out just how true that is.

But then, Bill O'Reilly would say that is just George Soros talking, now wouldn't he?  Funny how every time public opinion gets strongly voiced against the failing Bush Administration (dang it!), Bill O. trots out the "scary liberals and George Soros" soft shoe, isn't it?  Truly, that is getting old.  And factually inaccurate.  And incredibly repetitive.

Of course, O'Reilly conveniently fails to mention the fact that several wealthy conservative families have poured money into PR foundations, faux outrage groups, pressure tactic think tanks and all sorts of other ventures…for years.  (Arkansas Project, anyone?  And that is just for starters.)  If you need a little background on the various tentacles of wingnut money and the funding of the Wurlitzer, take a peek at this from Phoenix Woman.  Or this from Digby.

As if talking about a worthwhile political action step wasn't incentive enough, stop by and chat with Tom Matzzie later today at 1:00 pm ET/10:00 am PT  – because it will push Bill O'Reilly further over the edge.
