Howdy folks!

In the studio with the B-52s again tonight. They’re awfully fun people. There’s lots of dancing in the control room while we listen to mixes.

My official duties as studio assistant to day have been 1. make coffee, 2. take out the garbage, 3. make some more coffee, 4. set up a printer for the band to use to print lyrics for each other, 5. make tea for the british producers, 6. troubleshoot various computer difficulties on the band’s personal machines, and 7. make an Ivor Cutler sampler CD for Fred.

Oh, and make more coffee.

The ’52’s are FDL Pups!! They rock, always have. Now old enough, by far, to be esoteric, but, yet, still edgy enuff for those young enuff NOT to know them, and the history of Athens, GA.

Wonder how Condi enjoyed those two weeks where people tried to make a case for her to run for Prez… haha ha.

I just want to see just once Condoleeza Rice and Barbara Boxer jump over the tables at eachother in a knock down, drag out, bitch fight on the committee room floor. You know they want to. They are probably dying to settle the score before the administration ends. McGovern predicting Cheney and Bush will resign before the end of 2008? Probably not until November when the administration ends anyway. I don’t think Pelosi would want to be President until Hillary has had a go at it. I would be happy with exposing Rove to the american people for what he is and let history condemn Cheney and Bush in infamy.

Pelosi and Reid looked like the arrogant asshats that they actually are when they refused, at least at first, to meet with David Petraus. You people are extremists, so you don’t know how this looks in the country. It’s as if Karl Rove is cutting checks over at the DNC.

We couldn’t write this script better if Ken Mehlman and Mark McKinnon got down and started writing it themselves: Henry Waxman, bully of bullies, the kind of ambulance chaser who puts late night commercials for his law firm on public access cable, is now going to subpoena Condi Rice, Republican Heroine whose ratings in the country are somewhere between 55% and 60%.

And you think Rice is scared of a two bit showman like Waxman? I’ve been trying to talk sense into Lefties for a month on this issue: why do you people think that Condi has been so dismissive to Big Bad Henry Waxman? She’s never this way to her friends on Foreign Relations and Appropriations. She’s even been as cooperative as she could be, within the bounds of allowing the President some diplomatic manuevering room, to Jim Webb’s Iran inquiries. But she’s treating Waxman for the Used Car Salesman with a chili stain on his tie that he actually is. Nope. Waxman gets the full domma treatment, complete with stress ball.

Do you think she wanted to provoke him? Wound his pride? Make sure that he answered the Call of the Nutroots and issued a subpoena? I do. Now it’s partisan. Now, Waxman has lost the Committee Republicans. Now it turns into an Ollie North hearing. Which is what she was counting on. She knows Waxman has a terribly weak hand to play.

Condi Rice walked Waxman right into this. But you people watch Olbermann, so you don’t think she’s capable of such things. Watch, and learn. Condi Rice is going to show you people how a bully is taken down.

Your defense of the indefensible is rather pathetic but then what do Republican apologists have left? What was the name of that memo that Condi had in her possession in the summer of 2001? Oh, that’s right “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the U.S.” Her bad I guess. Who said “No one imagined that anyone would use planes as weapons”? Oh yeah, that was Condi. Did you actually believe this when just 6 months earlier she had been warned of just that possibililty. But then you and your kind will make excuses of the indefensible because they belong to your side. Your Party means more to you than your country. What a pity. Our founding fathers did battle with your type of apologist and you know what, your side lost then too.
