20 years ago I dedicate myself to Organic Agriculture. I, along with dozens, then hundred’s of like minded people tolled for years to develop then implement Organic standards at the State, Federal and International level.

We have, though our hard work removed thousands of tons of chemicals and synthetic fertilizers from the earth.

All you have to do to help heal the earth, is buy Organic products.

With Organics every day is earth day.

Climate change disaster strikes Australia.

http://tinyurl.com/2o86zz

“Australia has warned that it will have to switch off the water supply to the continent’s food bowl unless heavy rains break an epic drought - heralding what could be the first climate change-driven disaster to strike a developed nation.”

The Prime Minister, John Howard, a hardened climate-change sceptic, delivered dire tidings to the nation’s farmers yesterday. Unless there is significant rainfall in the next six to eight weeks, irrigation will be banned in the principal agricultural area. Crops such as rice, cotton and wine grapes will fail, citrus, olive and almond trees will die, along with livestock.

A ban on irrigation, which would remain in place until May next year, spells possible ruin for thousands of farmers, already debt-laden and in despair after six straight years of drought.

Australia is the only major industrialized country other than the U.S. to reject the Kyoto Protocol.

Is it normal for crows to attack owls? Because crows are very unhappy with the owl in the back yard. Lots of crow-yelling and so forth. The poor beleagured owl has to keep moving around.

Yes — most birds will harass raptors of any sort. Most of my raptor sightings have been because I noticed that the crows were after something. Best sighting was the Peregrine Falcon blasting by 10 feet in front of me, less than 6 feet from the ground with the crows making an attempt at hot pursuit…

And I don’t understand the Air Force sky shows. Burning fuel just for fun seems rather outdated.

Course it didn’t turn out to be fun yesterday, did it?

As an Air Force brat I resent this remark — also The Blue Angels are the Navy’s aerobatic team. The Air Force aerobatic team is the Thunderbirds.

Right now, I’m mourning the loss of a damn good pilot, and I don’t want to think about how his family is feeling…

What has Bush wrought?

AP - Gunmen in northern Iraq stopped a bus filled with Christians and members of a tiny, mostly Kurdish religious sect on Sunday, police said, separating out the groups and taking 23 of the passengers away to be shot.

I think it’s going to take more than Reid to comfort this psycho (Bush). As in very, very professional help.

To all of you at 160,

I wish I could replay that part of Wolf Blitzer’s interview. I heard them say that Reid had reached the conclusion that the war can’t be won and that
LBJ and MacNamara were in his mind. I want to replay what was said to the president.

After they spoke of Reid reaching out to comfort the president, Wolf asked, “And was he comforted?”

I think it was Suzanne Malveaux who said, “No, I don’t think so.”
