old gold @ 68

I thought Russert’s Hatch correction bit was very weak. First, he failed to identify what the falsehood was.Second, directing people to go to the web site to read Hatch’s letter is not an adequate remedy. The falsehood was uttered on TV, not in a letter. The correction should have been on TV!

This was exactly my reaction with a lot of rage thrown in. The way it was handled, the lie will stand in peoples memory and no one will have a clue even what Hatch said that was false since it was not identified in any way by Russert. Russert made it sound like Hatch said “Monday” when it was “Tuesday.” Just another pathetic example of why “Meet the Press” has no relevance any longer. I hope Leahy addresses this when the hearings reconvene so as to set the record straight.

Also, Gregory showed his strips near the end, referring to the Bush Administrations strong leadership on Foreign Policy. PLEEEASE! I have been very disappointed in him for awhile and this was the final straw.

one story about the Easter Ham

After she became pregnant, she bore a son named Tammuz claiming he was the product of a sunray, which caused her to conceive. But Tammuz grew to be a hunter and was later killed by a wild pig. “Ishtar” then designated a forty day period (the source of Lent) to mark the anniversary of Tammuz’s death.

During this time, no meat was to be eaten. Every year, on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox, a celebration was made. Ishtar also proclaimed that because a pig killed Tammuz, that a pig must be eaten on that Sunday.

This is of course a condensed version of all pagan beliefs originating Easter. Satan is a master deceiver, and has filled the world with idolatries, lies, and misconceptions. The Easter Ham and all else promoting the ancient pagan religion of Mystery Babylon (per “Ishtar”) are customs of the false god, Baal.

Timely and shady for Dowd, Bolton, Adelman and all the rest to jump from the Bush administration’s ship that they helped construct. Cowards that’s what they are!

All of the plastic eggs and plastic bunnies signs of a pagan holiday ….crack me up! BUNNIES GONE WILD!

hotflash @ 115

I believe (based on no confusing research) that the reason for ham at Easter is so that people can see you are not celebrating Passover. Just my cynical observation…

The reason for ham at Easter is that it tastes good. (based on my own extensive research).

Morning all I trust TCM is playing this absolute masterpiece sometime today. If you haven’t seen it before that simply means YOU’RE NOT GAY!

My favorite scene is Ann Miller’s dancing to, I think, “Taking the Blues Away”. She taps herself into a frenzy and when she stops her hair is all over the place. Centrifugal force and all. There’s a quick edit and she’s all tucked and sprayed again. Just one of those little details that cracks me up. Seriously, though…I love this fluffy movie. Its not Easter without it!

Thought I’d report an Easter morning red tail hawk sighting, and pigeons fleeing, here by Boston. Spectacular, it’s made my day, like seeing a Ferrari go by.

“We’re a couple of swells
We stop at the best hotels
But we prefer the country far away from the city smells
We’re a couple of sports
The pride of the tennis courts
In June, July and August we look cute when we’re dressed in shorts
The Vanderbilts have asked us up for tea
We don’t know how to get there, no siree
No, siree
We would drive up the Avenue, but we haven’t got the price
We would skate up the Avenue, but there isn’t any ice
We would ride on a bicycle, but we haven’t got a bike
So we’ll walk up the Avenue
Yes, we’ll walk up the Avenue
And to walk up the Avenue’s what we like
Wall Street bankers are we
With plenty of currency
We’d open up the safe but we forgot where we put the key
We’re the favorite lads
Of girls in the picture ads
We’d like to tell you who we kissed last night but we can’t be cads
The Vanderbilts are waiting at the club
But how are we to get there, that’s the rub
That’s the rub
We would sail up the Avenue, but we haven’t got a yacht
We would drive up the Avenue, but the horse we had was shot
We would ride on a trolley car but we haven’t got the fare
So we’ll walk up the Avenue
Yes, we’ll walk up the Avenue
Yes, we’ll walk up the Avenue till we’re there
We would swim up the Avenue but we haven’t any lake
So we’ll walk up the Avenue
Yes, we’ll walk up the Avenue
Yes, a walk up the Avenue’s what we’ll take”
