please tell the rhizomes

bright shining eyes and big devouring teeth

we mourn the blades, lost with their chlorophyll

we wither in the cold

why has our gardener forsaken us?

Well, what the heck. The White House Press Corp really couldn’t get any more humiliated by Bush than already are, could they? Even more embarrassing, they haven’t yet figured out how pathetic they appear.

Ol 60 Grit is Kate O Beirne - I wouldn’t even know where to start . . .

the appellation is a reference to certain entropied ’soft tissues’ ;)

Or the sound of her voice when in Fishwife Mode (which is all the time).

GSD @ 15

This could be the beginning of a Tet Offensive moment.

This could be worse. They’ve demonstrated that they can take out our helicopters at will, and the Green Zone is for all intents & purposes surrounded. Wonder if George has pondered that scenario…Fall of Saigon meets Blackhawk Down.

Or Custer leaves the fort to engage Indian nations.

Cheney came up with the doctrine, but George W. Bush intuitively understood how to carry it forward. A sudden blow for no reason is better than one for a good reason. Makes your opponent second-guess themselves. That;s when they make mistakes.

That’s why we need to start impeachment proceedings against Gonzales. It would be a sharp blow to Bush’s glass jaw. These guys don’t know how to take a punch. They’ll wig out and make mistakes.

Makes sense. It’s how you deal with bullies who are cowards, always. Show someone else nearby taking a beating and they will lose confidence. I like the way Edwards is piling threats on, one threat for each day it seems. He speaks the language of fearless - to encourage other Dems and all of us, I think.

Operative word: Abasement

Yes, indeed, nothing like having a President who thinks physical abasement of the press is amusing, and a press corps that sees nothing wrong with being the butt of his jokes over and over again.

Take your pick among these criteria that best describes the Bush you know.

DSM III-R criteria: Sadistic personality disorder is a pervasive pattern of cruel, demeaning, and aggressive behavior, beginning by early adulthood, as indicated by the repeated occurrence of at least four of the following:

Has used physical cruelty or violence for the purpose of establishing dominance in a relationship (not merely to achieve some noninterpersonal goal, such as striking someone in order to rob him or her)

Humiliates or demeans people in the presence of others

Has treated or disciplined someone under his or her control unusually harshly.

Is amused by, or takes pleasure in, the psychological or physical suffering of others (including animals)

Has lied for the purpose of harming or inflicting pain on others (not merely to achieve some other goal)

Gets other people to do what he or she wants by frightening them (through intimidation or even terror)

Restricts the autonomy of people with whom he or she has a close relationship, e.g., will not let spouse leave the house unaccompanied or permit teenage daughter to attend social functions

Is fascinated by violence, weapons, injury, or torture

Speaking of Sociology (which I know a little about), I read this report… (barest of snippets just to give a hint what this is about…

Beyond his green credentials, Isham is part of a legion of “action anthropologists,” largely trained at the University of Chicago, Harvard, and the Sorbonne, who combine cultural profiling with radical political activism,…

The conference was organized around a series of Tavistockian “small group” sensitivity sessions…

Believe me, some of the manipulators of Public Opinion have studied more than a little “sociology.”

Warning: This report is not very friendly to the scams being constructed around the global warming issue or Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. Anyway it’s here, for those interested. Titled thusly:

“total control of everything:”

Sounds sort of “scientological”…

Who needs “real” conspiracies when there is such a subterfuge of greed, and the lust for power and wealth so permeates our lawmaking milieu?

They(the “bad guys”)don’t need to meet together in order to form their profane policies, they all simply share the same deadly sins and therefore the same pernicious motivations. And so, they seem to act as one, working silently and blindly together to accomplish their selfish treachery.

The only time they part ways is when their greed conflicts at the final dollar figures. But until that point, their treachery unites them in an ageless game of mutual deceit.
