There’s plenty more Braves fans that just Georgians. Yeah -that was an ugly, unnecessary jab in an otherwise good post. The stat I like the best: Glavine as a Met against the Bravos 3-10.

Actually, a lot of the marginalia in the Geneva bible can be viewed as anti-authoritarian as well as anti-Catholic, which is why most of the commentary was not used in the King James translation. A while back I read a book called “God’s Secretaries” about the making of the King James version of the bible. Interesting stuff. I hadn’t realized that the King James version of the Bible was deliberately composed in English that was archaic even in that era and that the KJ version was not popular with the English until many years after its publication. They preferred the simple accessibility of the Geneva version to the poetic but sometimes obscure KJ version.

This question may have been EPUd….

Is the Senate formally in Recess or just vacationing for Easter……? If the latter “Recess” appointments will not stand up, I assume.

Related question I’ve been wondering: Does Congress ever have to go in recess? I know the President can adjourn them (Article 2 Section 3), which in and of itself is scary. But aside from the president forcing adjournment can’t they just stay in session to avoid these appointments.

I live in Ferguson’s district in NJ, and this is the first time I *ever* anyone calling him a moderate. I seem to remember he’s one of Delay’s boys.

During the last race Linda Stender came close to beating him; perhaps he is trying to change his spots now.

In an honest world the name of the editor would be included in the byline.

Is there any way for the online community to name these specific editors?

Sunshine would be good for them like everyone else.

Reporter puts reputation on the line, editor gets to mangle story anonymously.

This needs to change.

Byline should read: (reporters name) as edited by (editors name)

This is only fair. Maybe whatever reporters union there is should fight for this.

The fact checkers at the NY Times let another howler through with “moderate ones like Mike Ferguson.” If he’s supporting certain Democratic bills now, it is only because he is running scared from the relatively close race Democrat Stender gave him in this solid Republican district in 2006. If one looked at his voting record prior to 2007 and also heard him debate Linda Stender last Fall, you’d know he is far from moderate in fact. The NY Times is just spewing Republican propaganda again.
