It’s really rallied the base and given passion to a lot of people (especially in the house) that we slaughtered in the midterms and we seem to be about to go into 08 with a least even more victories in the house and more senate seats. I wrote my own blog about the legalities and why we should seize rove with the sergeant-at-arms method, my mom asked me to read it back to her. I was obviously pissed, but GOD did it feel good to say it in such a loud bold strong and passionate voice. Roaaaarr. Which department, TiredFed? For HHS our biggest budget push comes in August/September when our financial people are trying to get enough into the budget for the next fiscal year. (October/November is second, that’s when they try to figure out what they can cut because we’re on a continuing resolution…)

OMB Mark comes around Thanksgiving. When the folks at OMB are feeling especially Scrooge-like, they give us the mark on the day befor Thanksgiving and ask for appeals by Monday! Nicer folks wait til just after Thanksgiving, but you can bet we are all running around like preoverbial headless chickens all during the time period.

He’s been offered the minimum 10-month sentence, half of which can be served at his home. Other charged have been dropped. 18 and a half minutes of missing tape. Just for reference, I reviewed a Watergate timeline from WaPo last night.
July 23, 1973 — Nixon refuses to turn over the presidential tape recordings to the Senate Watergate Committee or the special prosecutor.
It took another year before the Supreme Court ruled no executive privilege and the House started impeachment proceedings.
Since, as I age, time seems to move faster, perhaps it won’t take that long this time around.
