I think Rove has some compromising pictures of Cheney and Bush. That’s the only explanation that makes sense to me.

Democracy has to be conducted in the light and in public. Rove and the other suspects need to testify under oath with no preconditions.

Jeez, another hissy-fit. “I AM the Prezdint!” in another Bizarro World moment for the Bizarro #1 on planet Htrae, a wacky, cockeyed world: “He is well-meaning but witless, super-powerful but pathetic. His speech is illiterate and ungrammatical.”

Society is ruled by the Bizarro Code, which states “Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!”. “Me unhappy!” he declares sadly in July 1959, “Me don’t belong in world of living people! Me don’t know difference between right and wrong - good and evil!”

Bizarro Dick Cheney would, of course, have always been right in every assertion.

George Bush: was he completely in the loop on all of this, or was he out of the loop and disengaged entirely from high level decision-making in his own Administration?

George Bush is the “air” inside the loop that one makes with a rope or other material.

Neither of the two most senior Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee are stepping forward to endorse Gonzales,

Evil Dr. Grammar sez: Neither . . . is stepping forward.

AP adds to its list of errors (or, as it might say, “it’s” list).

I hate it when folks show they were absent from the 8th grade English class I taught oh so many years ago!

On the untranscribed chat with Rove and Meirs:

Is the Senate going to subpoena and the House going to chat?

I asked yesterday about why Rove is never a target, but the press and the law concentrate on Gonzales and Bush and DOJ. The answer came back that this was about Rove, but apparently the legal strategy is to get him disconnected from the levers of power by messing with the levers–his political clients.

Has it occurred to any of the principals in the cross-hairs of a broadening scandal (like Specter for example) that the Republicans could fight back if they fought together against Rove instead of taking orders from The Enforcer? Some of these politicians and DOJ folks are bound to realize Rove’s threats are empty if they decide to rat him out. Just because Rove leaves no fingerprints on his own documents does not mean he cannot be nailed.

Now, I know you might this a thick-headed observation. Maybe to you (legal folks) it’s obvious—but to the average non-legal observer, it is not. And I wish people would hear this out loud in plainer English than all wrapped up in clever innuendo and “it’s going to be interesting” commentary.

Seriously. What does Karl have on W? It’s GOT to be something major for Karl to be protected above everything else. I sometimes wonder if W would choose Karl over Laura and Barney. (He’d certainly choose him over the twins).

Impeachement, if not now, when? What good does it do to write a constitution or protect it? Meaningless loss of life doesn’t rise to high crimes? Torture in our names is not enough? Our children are suppose to deal with all of this when they are our age? I worry that they will tear it up.

Amen.
