Just looked up and saw a commercial on teevee for “Fidelity Investments” using, get this, –

Iron Butterfly’s Innagattadavida, or however the hell they spelled it. [There’s an apocryphal tale that it was originally “In the Garden of Eden,” but the singer was high as a kite for the first take, and the slurred name “took.” ]

Jeesh. I give up. Theodore Roszak in “The Making of the Counterculture” predicted way back when (1967?) that the counterculture would end up being packaged and sold on Wall Street.

But this is ridiculous.

i saw that – 1st reaction i was stunned just to hear it – then almost fell off the couch laughing. then i danced around the livingroom during the rest of the spot. now it’s replaying in my head over & over ;)

Today was a major turning point. For the first time in six-seven years my boss had something bad to say about this administration. The funny part was that he couldn’t bring himself to mention bush by name but to blame it on the “government”. It may not seem like much but it was sweetness to me.

Realization comes quickly to some, slowly to others.

Another test of their humanity is whether they’re recidivists and return to the Darkness.

Today on the Ed Schultz show, I heard a caller take the “Clinton did it worse!” claim to the ultimate absurdity: Clinton fired all the prosecutors to provide cover for getting rid of the one prosecutor who was investigating Webb Hubbell. The question is not what color the sky is in that rightwing dude’s world, but whether it has an atmosphere at all.

Oh, Buddha on a swizzle stick, these guys are nuts.

firing an attorney to stop an investigation is obstruction of justice.

Oh man, you took the words right out of my mouth. Pooh.

Scarborough accuses White House spokesman Dan Bartlett of an “outright lie” in Bartlett’s attempt to spin USAgate.

It’s nice to see someone having the courage to use the word “lie” again rather than those lame replacement words like “misspoke”.
