Interesting that both had a history of, shall we say, marital misperception. Bette Davis remarked after her marriage will Gary Merrill broke up that they each had fallen in love with the other’s character from <i>All About Eve</i>, which of course was not the nature of the true person. As for Betty Mabry Davis, well, her husband Miles Davis recorded the coolly beautiful, acoustic, and reflective “Mademoiselle Mabry” going into their marriage, and the funky, at times disturbing, electric (and equally beautiful imo) <i>Bitches Brew</i> collection, which many say had to do with the marriage and its breakup, coming out of it. </p> <p>Betty Davis downloads <a href="http://tinyurl.com/33buoh">here</a>. You install a little piece of software on your computer and it will log all the music you’ve been listening to automagically and put a bunch of stats on your MOG page for you to share with folks. I thought he’d be into the topic of the town and what the “redevelopers” are doing with the place (gentrification vs. preserving pieces of history) and I got the feeling he wasn’t really listening and then I apologized b/c I kind of felt like I was wasting his time… even though we were standing around waiting for more people to show up so he could start speaking.

Oh well. Sometimes our heroes are best left on those pedestals?

Try not to take it personally. Performers minds are often racing a mile a minute inside their own heads before a performance, even if it looks like they’re just waiting around. I’ve had many a pre-show conversation that went in one ear and out the other just because the adrenaline was starting to rise.

Sage advice here, and a more likely analysis of what went down pre show.
