maunga @ 102

Steve @ 71 Remember—- Armitage flagged Mrs Wilson’s name as specially and differently classified in the FAX he sent to AF1. They knew!! A great prayer is that there is a log in Fitzy’s hand of the tel calls back from AF1 to Rove and to Edgar telling them to blow Mrs Wilson’s cover.

I want to know about Tony Blair’s calls to AF-1 on July 7, 2003. That’s the day that he was told that David Kelly “could say some uncomfortable things.” (Hutton Report.) COULD say, not had said. Kelly had already been whistleblowing anonymously to the BBC about the “sexed up” pre-war intel. What else did he know? Why did they hunt him down within government, and interrogate him in a “safe house”? Why were they so worried about him? It’s not as if it was “news” that the prewar Iraq intel had been exaggerated. Something else going on. Plame outed seven days later. Four days after that (7/18), Kelly was found dead underly highly suspicious circumstances. He office and computers were searched. And four days after that (7/22), Novak ADDITIONALLY outed the entire Brewster-Jennings WMD counter-proliferation network, by naming the front company in his column.

The coincidence of the Plame/Kelly dates–and themes–is too compelling to be ignored. I think Kelly may be the “dark” part of the Miller/Libby conversation in mid-June (the one Fitgerald had to agree not to question her about, to get her testimony for Libby’s perjury trial.) She knew Kelly. In fact, Kelly wrote his last email to Miller, on the day he died, in which he stated his concern about the “many dark actors playing games.”

I, too, pray that Fitzgerald has AF-1 phone logs. I think they may hold the key to the part of this conspiracy that we cannot yet see–the simultaneous cross-Atlantic whistleblower and his fate.

I once met Cheney at a political cook out in Indiana around 1993. He seemed to take himself very seriously and made a good presentation. I think it is inappropriate to make gib and insulting comments about Cheney. Such conduct obfuscates the fact that Cheney has developed into a serious and dangerous menace to the welfare of our country. We will always have to be responsible for the election of Bush and Cheney by nominating such flaky candidates such as Gore and Kerry and now a fatuous Hillary Clinton. It is the quality of the opposition to Bush and Cheney that is now important. So please spare all the glib comments about Cheney.

I’ll pass on responsibility for electing Cheney in 2000, thanks. That fault lies totally with certain members of the Supreme Court. “Flaky” Gore won the popular vote, BTW.

It is ridiculous to rely on the plrality in the popular vote (provided by Calif) and “pass” on responsibility for Gore. Or blame it on the Supreme Court. The election never should have gotten to the Supreme Court Gore ran a terrible camplaign. Hyperventilating when he was debating Bush and losing the debates to Bush. Both Bush and Gore are medicore spoiled children born of privilege and children who never grew up. That election should not have been close. Enough of Gore, Kerry and the Clintons.

Isn’t this rather like blame the victim? Gore should have been president and I believe would have made a good one. Hillary will not get the nomination. Kerry was a mistake. But a large chunk of the responsibility for the Bush/Cheney nightmare rests with Bush/Cheney and the GOP.

Of course he is crazy, or at least getting that way. You would be too if you had been told ypou had to keep circling the globe visitibng countries full of people who detest you. He’s obviously been locked out of the country until after the jury delivers its verdict on Libby because they dont want him in town when that happens.

Let’s get the rules straight. Anonymous liberal and left wing blog posters are not allowed to make any comments that could easily be misconstrued to be from the mouth of well know right-wing radio and tv personalities like Michael Savage, Melanie Morgan, Glenn Beck, Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh.

Bush and Cheney both are infatuated with power. They feel they have risen to a level of unquestioned authority but in effect they have both risen to their own level of incompetency.

Great article. I like the detail in your post. It is quite impressive.

And the trial — let’s just hope the “reasonable doubt” issue won’t sink the guilty decision. You know it’s very very difficult to get a unanimous decision on anything.

I’ll post what I posted at GG’s this morning re his post about Cheney….

Every once in a while my husband and I are guests at the country pile.

The laird of the manor, so to speak, is an ex British ambassador to Libya, had the largest law firm in the middle east for decades and was Cheney’s Europeand counsel at one time.

He let me read a speech he wrote a several yrs back regarding the American invasion. This was written for a speaking tour in the States, I’m not sure of specific audiences, but what is important is the content. He precisely forecasted what would happen in the aftermath, including Iran, and he provided productive suggestions as to what could be done about it, as well as creating a Federation of Israel, Jordan, eventually Lebanon, etc.

Well, suffice it to say, he’s no longer Cheney’s counsel and though he’s been invited back to the States, he has no desire to give speeches to what I assume were many grumbling neocons in the audience. But what always makes me laugh when I think of that great read is the last paragraph. I paraphrase, but it’s something like…’I have no monopoly of opinions on these matters and I do not say that I am right but all I can tell you is that after forty years in the Region I am more likely to be right thana lot of you….’

And hey, no snarky remarks about the Brits from my fellow americans s.v.p.

We’ve only our administration to thank for Doug Feith and those ridiculous architects…but it IS bizarre to go back to a Vanity Fair article about Feith and the neocons….he was being interviewed for his ‘intellectual approach’ and all the while his research libary was filled with facts about how the Brits had failed withe similar approach…well, enuf rambling…just keep the energy against bad karma and teh Bush cheney junta as my uber idol Gore Vidal suggests…

i’m going to really change the energy by heading off on the eurostar to see harry in the nude…
