‘One of the first thing he wrote, did his wife send him on a junket.’

Those notes on the margins weren’t questions, they were Cheney’s directions on how Scooter should present the Wilson story to the press once the outing campaign was initiated. Cheney wasn’t asking Libby to find out if it was a junket, he was instructing him to frame it that way to the media slugs they had come to depend on for their subterfuge.

And did anyone else get incredibly indignant when they read the comment about the Wall Street Journal acting as a posting board for Cheney’s war-mongering shenanigans?

Billionaire, no-bid, book-cooking bastards, one and all. They were salivating at the chance to use this war to gain money for blood.

Lincoln warned us of the influence of financial interests in government, and Eisenhower lumped them all together with his military-industrial admonition (too bad they made him ake out the “congressional” tag, it would have fit perfectly in this millieu.)

Christy, Marcy, Swopa, Pach and all the rest of the gang, thanks for letting me join in, I’ll lurk still, but I’ll leave the commenting to the experts.

I still have a problem with Cheney reasoning (/) that if “wifey” had asked Wilson to go to Niger,

…

Plus — “junket” to Niger? Frickin’ NIGER?? Besides being a sadist, has this guy no grasp of the world? Apparently not.

That’s the kind of statement which makes me think Dubya was involved. If you’ll recall, he once said Africa was a country. That kind of ignorance stands out and I don’t think BadAim Dick is stupid that way.

I suspect George is in up to his neck and it’ll just take one solid piece of evidence, aside from verbal testimony, to nail him.

OT, But IMPORTANT…

Slipped into, and passed, in last year’s defense bill was a provision making it easier for the “president” (such as the AWOL TRAITORBoy) to declare martial law.

A bipartisan bill, sponsored by Pat Leahy and Kit Bond (he’s such a rubber-stamper, you KNOW it’s serious), would repeal this.

From Crooks and Liars, with a link to NYT article.

I still have a problem with Cheney reasoning (/) that if “wifey” had asked Wilson to go to Niger, that in itself automatically undercuts all the facts Wilson presented.

Hunh? How grossly sexist is that? Uh–waaay grossly sexist. Are they all quite mad?

Plus — “junket” to Niger? Frickin’ NIGER?? Besides being a sadist, has this guy no grasp of the world? Apparently not.

Hope Big Dick goes on a one-way junket to Gitmo.

David Ehrenstein @ 179

Dear Mr. Fitzgerald:

If you’re looking for an utterly fascinating older gentleman (I just turned 60) to be attentive to your needs, I am your disposal 24/7.

Should things work out I see a New Jersey wedding in our future.

David, you sound like a very nice man. I have an uncle in Wyckoff who may be perfect for you.

Fitzgerald has been put through the ringer with this case. The various smear campaigns were just cruel. And the fact that he couldn’t respond made ME furious. I can only imagine what it was like for his friends and family.

So today, regardless of the outcome of this trial, Fitzgerald got his voice back. And, as is true of ethical people with a platform, he showed all of us, loudly and clearly, what it is to prevail.
