Just a quick heads up for everyone. I'll be doing Sam Seder's show on Air America this morning at 9:15-ish am ET. You can listen live through streaming feed here. Should be fun, as always, because Sam is a kick. And we'll be talking about the Libby case.
Also, this evening at 6:15-ish pm ET, I'll be on the Peter B. Collins radio show. You can listen live through streaming feed here. We'll also, coincidentally (or not so coincidentally, actually) be talking about the Libby case.

mornin’ Christy – go get ‘em.
Yes! Go get ‘em, Christy!
Hey – do I get a merit badge or somethin’ for my No Scoots (1-7-07), no Shoots (sometime pre-trial) calls as to w/n they would testify?
Not that I’m happy, in this case, about having been right….
I thinks some Omniscience got spilled on me. Wonder where that could have come from?
Thanks for the heads up, Christy. Have listened to Air America here in L.A. every weekday since they started, KTLK 1150. Helps keep me sane…
morning, Christy!
All Christy All Day! I will definitely be listening!
Good morning Christy. It’s getting sad when I can walk outside without a coat to get the newspaper and think, oh it’s not so bad… (it was only -3). Gosh, if it actually hits 40 here next weekend I’ll melt.
Take care and I’ll tune it!
Hi Everyone. It has been a while. I’ve been underground with work, but calling home last night and having family say FDL is a featured item on the Times – well fabulous shocker! Congratulations and thanks to Christy and everyone else here.
Perhaps this isn’t the occasion to bring this up Christy, but perhaps Sam would know if there is any pushback by the Dems or others against Clear Channel on the decision to cut Air America in key markets after the election. I think Romney’s investment group is a key factor in this. The Boston situation is among the more egregious because it had a lousy signal before, and they immediately pumped up the signal after transforming it to a Spanish music station (the 3rd here, in a not especially Spanish market). I used to have the station on as background for much of my work day there. Now I can’t even stand listening to NPR much of the time because they have become so milk toast. The media and its ownership still remain critical issues for retaining (getting back) our democracy – even with the excellent work on FDL and other blogs.
well – time to get ready for work -
Isn’t there a trial – somewhere- to live-blog today?
Geez, I’m so addicted.
morning pups!
for sam seder this morning, is there a shoutcast (mp3 stream) link i can use for streaming via itunes? thanks!
here, I’ll pour the coffee!
my, aren’t we all UP EARLY today?
rahm emmanuel giving his 5 min. iraq speech right now on the house floor… pretending he is against the war.
maybe nancy (or us) has got to him?
Good luck, does Sam still got the shiv out for Ed Schultz and vice versa?
Meanwhile, thank you press photographers for making my Dick Cheney Dreams come true!
Good Morning, firepups,
Cold and clear this morning. Perfect snow for building igloos: it’s frozen solid just the way you would want it if you were a kid, or a kid at heart.
I’m late this morning in logging on to FDL. Krugman had another great piece about healthcare. The coffee’s hot, and today’s batch of herb biscuits are coming out of the oven in a couple of minutes. Help yourselves. I need to go bundle up before heading off to wait for the train.
Work for peace, every day.
And give ‘em hell, Redd.

In iTunes, in the column on the left, under ‘Library,’ highlight ‘Radio.’ When the categories appear, it may take a second or two, click the little black triangle next to ‘Talk/Spoken Word’. Then double click on Air America.
Good morning, Christy, firepups. Thanks for the heads up and the linky.
Good morning everyone! Is it me or has David Broder fallen into deep senility with his piece entitled, “Bush Regains His Footing”. I’ve enjoyed the snark about Broder like everyone else around here but I honestly think at this point he is choking on a cocktail weenie and not getting oxygen to his brain.
twolf1 @ 15
When I do this with NPR, sometimes the show I am trying to listen to isn’t on that NPR station at that time. Does Air America do that too?
Morning all — it’s cold again here this morning. Damn groundhog. Is it spring yet?
Think I’ll talk about garden planning for tomorrow’s pull up a chair. I need some Spring…
twolf1 @ 15
thank you, twolf1! i think you’d given us that link before – and i had forgotten it. thanks for the reminder!
Christy Hardin Smith @ 19
excellent! i was just looking at some spring/summer garden pics yesterday (trying to get organized)… and was so wishing for spring. sigh.
Morning all,
I haven’t been tracking the Iraq debate thingy in the House, but my Rep (Candice Miller, R-MI-10)spoke yesterday. I don’t agree with her reasons but I sure hope other Reps follow her lead. If you want to listen all the speeches are at CSpan here, by state and by Rep. Anybody know where there is a for/against tally?
selise at 21 — I am jonesing for gardening so badly at the moment. Our living room is covered in seed catalogs and gardening books. Mr. ReddHedd has been laughing at me all week. *g*
Jane S. – I listened to CHS on Seder’s show on that itunes link last time she was on. However, I don’t think it carries the Collins show in the evening.
david shuster on imus right now
twolf1 @ 24
Thanks!
Oh my. Don’t tell TRex. Howie Kurtz has gone all weepy over Malkin.
Kurtz on Malkin
Yay! Christy on the radio! I’ll get Mr HotFlash to hunt it down and save it (he knows how and I needn’t).
BTW, Mrs. K8 had a bit of an accident last night. She could use some good wishes, some good advice and some wheels as their car was totalled, details here.
From Rep. Tim Ryans (D) Ohio’s speech yesterday. Bold mine.
And my friend from Indiana also mentioned something about the issue of consistency; and I find it funny that the pro-life– the self-proclaimed pro-life party is the party that wants to keep extending the war;
Also this nugget, again the bold is mine.
And so I think our Republican colleagues should take the advice of the Secretary of Defense, and that is YOU GO TO WAR WITH THE PRESIDENT YOU HAVE. You don’t go to war with the President you wish you had.
There’s a diary at Kos with the transcript and most of it on video. It’s well worth the read.
I managed to tune in the Iraq debate just at our wingnut Michele Bachmann was saying her piece. She sounds and looks like another Harris-type. She was going on and on about our the general of the Minnesota National Guard was in her office and said we need to stay — or something like that. Frankly my brain shuts off when these people speak.
My email has been filled with people in Minnesota writing letters about her. She did a local interview and letters to the editors are swarming about all the lies in one interview she told. We wrote the person who did the interview asking why he let her get away with all those lies. We were happy to point out to him exactly what the lies were and linked to the articles were those lies were proven.
Oh and go Christy. Show the world that bloggers can speak as well as they right. The next step may be to illustrate how they can walk upright too.
HotFlash @ 28
Shuster is frustrating me. Imus just said Wilson used to introduce his wife as someone who worked for CIA. He did not! At the trial and in the indictment, it was made clear her employment with the CIA was classified, even if was not spelled out that she was a NOC.
Imus trying to push the “everyone knew Joe Wilson’s wife worked at the CIA” meme…
Shuster doing a pretty good job of refuting…
Christy Hardin Smith @ 19
We have daffodils coming up(covered a little by snow at the moment) and my very significant other is wondering when she can plant more stuff. I have to tell her it will be a couple of months.
Jane S. – Imus keeps sidetracking the conversation… very difficult.
OldCoastie @ 34
We posted conflicting statements. I think he could have been a little more emphatic. Joe Wilson was certainly not broadcasting his wife’s classified employment.
OldCoastie @ 36
I think all these journalists do weird stuff on Imus b/c it is sort of more infotainment than straight news. They don’t want to come down too hard on Imus?!
I had a quick trial question about yesterday and then I am going to attempt to be productive. And I must confess that I did a lot of skimming b/c those jury instruction discussions were really tedious. But at one point in my reading of EW’s post, it sounded like Fitz allowed Defense to concede that Libby didn’t know her status was classified. Now I know that he is charged with perjury here and not the IIPA but I thought that if convicted of perjury, Fitz could go after Libby for the core charges. But if he gave that up, it seems as though he will not do that. But maybe I misunderstood.
Christy,

If you want to get questions on the Diane Rehms Show this morning about the Libby Trial, or any of the other weeks events the show starts at 10.a.m EST. and goes for two hours on the weeks events, drshow@wamu.org/ 1-800-433-8850 (start dialing a few minutes before the hour and then keep pushing redial, sometimes I will use two phones. Get those questions on the air!
Folks on the west coast would probably get through right away, since the show does not get many calls from that part of the continent(early)
Opportunity to mention both of the FDL’s books “Anatomy of Deceit” and “U.S. Vs Bush”. If the producers of the show hear from enough us they will get these books and authors on the air.
Dorie the screener is wonderful, be clear and to the point. I always try to get info that the MSM is not addressing and then ask a question that the MSMer’s are not asking.
TRY IT…let’s get the FDLer’s books on Diane’s show. Millions of people listen to her show … she is one of the best mainstreamers out there
great, Christie! Sense AND sensibility! You sure packed a lot of savvy explanation into a short period of time. Good on you!
I would love to listen to you on Air America Radio, unfortunately, their one outlet in Connecticut (WAVZ) in New Haven, abruptly changed its format on 01 Feb 07. That station is now ESPN Radio. The public was neither notified or asked for comments. The sister stations of Clear Channel in New Haven continue to broadcast Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, et all, 24/7. So your voice is lost to this state. The FCC is silent on any queries regarding this issue.
We also lost OUR progressive radio station when clear channel cut over to this horrible mix of rightwing and sports. It was a real loss for me, for sure. I enjoyed Stephanie Miller in the morning, and Al Franken at lunch.
Oh, Columbus, OH. We lost progressive talk 1230, despite a petition.
I’ve seen a lot of interesting commentary about the Libby trial.
But there’s one thing I do not understand.
Why didn’t Fitzgerald call Cheney to the stand to clarify, once and for all, where Libby got the information about Plame and his instructions how to disseminate it?
After all, the leak was the crime.
Nobody has been indicted for the crime.
