I don’t know about that. Matthews is always slobbering about what a manly man Bush is – particularly in his flight suit. “Just a regular guy you would want to have a beer with.”

However Matthews is always bashing Cheney and the disasterous decision to go into Iraq.

I’m guessing the “he” here is Cheney. I know it is out of context, but given that Bush probably likes Matthews’ fawning attitude, that both Matalin and Libby work(ed) for Cheney, and that Cheney was probably more likely to resent Matthews’ pre-war doubts, I’d guess it is the Big Dick we are talking about here. Although, interpreting Matalin’s comments through the filter of Libby’s notes, Zeidenberg’s reading, and Marcy’s liveblogging is like a 21st Century version of “telephone”.

First, Wells has an objection to a couple of McClellan press conferance clips. Govt wants to play the clips, showing McClellan exonerating Rove but not Libby; then make the case that Libby went crying to Bartlett, which prompted the conversation with Cheney in which Cheney stated that he wasn’t going to throw one staffer (Libby) in a meat grinder to save another (Rove).
