David Brooks and Bob Herbert in the NYT. Brooks gave me a real “WTF???” feel. I just wonder what brought his blithering on this time.

Regarding Bobo Brooks:

Also on CNN – it is a far more balanced station when one sees it abroad. Why is it that we can’t insist on the same thing here.

Thanks for confirming. I did some international traveling a year or so ago and thought I saw the same shift. Glad to know I wasn’t imagining things.

So, if they can afford to have TWO formats, if you will, why not consolidate to make it a more objective INTERNATIONAL news service instead of a self-serving political tool?

Oh wait, I forgot. This is the STATES. (sigh)

NPR — whatever. They give credence to Clarice Feldman, who insists that that the first world trade center bombing was planned by Iraqi agents and Fitzgerald was wrong for being the first justice official to indict Osama and throw the Blind Sheik in jail. And then Tom Pierce snarks on firedoglake. **Eye roll**

Sigh. No wonder we are in this mess in Iraq – this is your ‘liberal’ media at work. But remember, first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, and they they fight you, then you win.

Forgive my digression for a moment, but I have to speak up…

Let’s not forget who NPR’s chief “political correspondent” is … Juan Williams. That guy is FAR from an objective, thorough and insightful reporter. His so-called interview with GW after the SOTU was an insult to my intellect and a waste of my time. Actually, I haven’t appreciated much of Mr. Williams’ work at all. It’s almost as if he appears to be afraid of asking the tougher questions. To me, that’s one of the central purposes of BEING a journalist, i.e. to ASK those tough questions.

As for NPR’s coverage of live blogging, I’m not surprised by their comments. Once again, they’re probably trying to defend themselves without any real need. In this case, if they simply reported rather than denigrated, they could well have come up smelling like a rose.

Ah well.
